I really late my time at the Chrysalis House. The classes were very helpful, they helped me learn how to live life when I got out of there. My counselor was awesome, she helped me a lot. The other staff members were professional and nice and also helped out a lot. They have a lot of donations for people that needed things coming into the place. Once I moved up in levels I got to go out on passes with family and friends. They helped me get on the right path and help me do the right thing when I left that is the first rehab I've ever graduated from is successfully completed it

I d never send anyone there not even my worst enemy. I was a detainee, I was pregnant, and had a very rough story to tell in which I DID NOT WANT TO SHARE but oh get vulnerable it s a part of recovery. Well I managed to make it to level 4 in merely 4months. The day before I had my little Liam and I had never been written up on contract NOTHING. I was with my son for about 4-5months and another client used my charges/case against me and made a FALSE accusation, they pulled me in the conference room with all the crooked administrators and unbeknownst to me they already called my county jail I was a inmate at and had them on thier way to get me and tried to swade me to admit to the allegations and I refused there was no proof heresay instead I was shackled and handcuffed as they held my baby. Me hyperventilating crying begging them not to do this. My mom came and got my son and promptly told them you have no idea what you just did to my daughter. If it wasn t for that hell hole nightmare of a place and thier false bullshit I would have never seen jail time. 15momths away from my oldest son and my new baby and my mom died while I was in prison. I won t ever trust this place or any other place I came in with PTSD left with complex PTSD acute trauma Illness. I was there Oct 2021-may 2022 and I know it s under new management just can t trust it. But I have my little one with me and thriving and still clean and sober.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Once a person has become addicted to a substance, drug rehab in Maryland is often necessary to overcome that addiction. These programs provide the tools individuals need to manage the physical, mental, and emotional issues involved and begin a successful recovery journey.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Alright I left Chrysalis House in October 2023. T!!! I miss you!!! Melissa if your still they're your thee best Aysa you're a hardworker and Symone thank you for everything. Ms. Susan if your still there your horrible still to this day because I did the time required and indured the 4 months while I watched so many other ppl skate. My problem is I did what was asked of me about because you knew I needed something you held it over my head so I basically left a domestic violence situation being controlled just for you to up and do the same thing it wasnt fair and may god handle u the way he may decide. My problems only God and time can heal. I've also watch this program call cps on a mom trying her best for her child because he had some behavior issues. They didn't care they called cps. Not thinking what that would do for her recovery or her mental state not even caring about her child mental state or trauma smh. I've watched ppl bring drugs onto the facility during visits while staff is hounding certain clients and there visit trying to prevent hook ups they in the other room giving the other one drugs and liqour. Why not watch them alot more carefully. The therapist Eboni was a total waste I've never seen a therapist with so much opinionsto have about someone they saw once every month or 2. Other than that I love all the people I met the woman I have created a bound with if it wasn't for yall I would've never made it as far as I did so to chrysalis house go to hell but the clients and certain staff like the ones I named yall deserve all the praise.

This placed saved my life. Not gonna lie the teaching is a little rough but they helped me mold myself in who I am today. Mrs. Caressa loved me when I didn't know how to love myself. She was extremely hard on me. But I needed it. Because it helped me understand myself. I would recommend this place to all women. And you can't blame staff for anything because your the one that got yourself there. You are the reason your in recovery. So I feel you have to keep a open mind. If You can survive there then you can survive the real world. I'm so thankful for this place. This place wasn't easy on me. But i know I will remain clean because of the knowli knowledge ave obtained while be there.. i have over a year and month clean.

I am aware this program is not easy to complete. However, this program allowed me the time to learn how to be a law abiding citizen and a good clear headed mother to my son. The relationship I have with my child now is unbreakable and I enjoy the freedom I experience on a daily basis.

Do NOT go here. I would not recommend chrysalis house. They abuse privalages and have stated false claims against multiple patients and had them removed from the home and threatened their well being. Not only this but insurance fraud. They told my insurance I was funded as a mother and child the entire stay. For four months !! They also say they will be there for you for support in court which never happened. Staff leaves and people are fired on a regular basis. I had covid pnumoia and was quarantined into a side of the house where medication was not given and at times they forgot to feed me. The ambulance was called three times and I had to BEG them to call. Unrealistic goals for their occupants. If you're looking for boot camp they just break you down and make you share personal Information where other people use it against you.

By far the WORST treatment facility I have been in and I have been in several. My first two days there, at least FOUR staff members remarked about the program "At least it's not jail". Is this the best you can say about your program? I've personally never been to jail. Maybe that should be their new slogan. The staff are constantly screaming at clients for no reason. If you attempt to file a complaint or grievance in the boxes provided, you are publicly called ungrateful and threatened with discharge.Smoke breaks are awful. They take your cigarettes during admissions and often make you wait 4-6 hours for a smoke break. I begged for Nicorette to help with the withdraw and was repeatedly denied. How can a treatment center not understand withdraw from one of the most addictive substances on earth? To make matters worse, often after you wait for the posted smoke break time, they either change it or make you jump through hoops for a cigarette.I was told my medication was accepted there. Upon arrival I was told one med was ok and one was not. I agreed to this but was told a week later that neither was ok so I informed staff I would have to find a different program. They begged me to stay so I agreed to try different meds, but I warned them I would likely be exhausted and tearful for several days. They promised to support me during this process, however after ONE day in bed they called a crisis unit and attempted to have me sent to a homeless shelter. The Board of Health are currently investigating them for the mistreatment I endured. I honestly felt traumatized by the time I left, with PTSD symptoms returning and frequent anxiety attacks for several days. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. I hope I never see another butterfly as long as I live.
