Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Heart icon Treatment

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Worst place ever . 1 star is too nice but if it was an option they would not get that. Pls if you love you re family do not place them here and if you re looking for a job and really care for patience and people you care for being in the medical field do not apply here or get a job here it s more like hell on earth or a slaughterhouse then being a nursing facility that really should be caring for people I pray God has mercy on these ppl soul for there wickedness.

Worst place ever. Do not let any family member go here unless you want to be treated horribly and have everything they own, I mean everything stolen. Drawers of clothes and all belongings gone. This place takes no responsibility and is dirty.

The lady at the front desk that is supposed to sign you in is very wicked and rude. They have this huge sign at the door that tells you not to be hostile and treat people kind but they are doing the opposite.. The place looks a little dingy and unkept my friend, told me that he can t wait to get out of there, due to the mistreatment he has been receiving. DO NOT put any loved ones who are in recovery in this place. It reminds me more of a jail than a center for care.

My Cousin died there 2 days before he was suppose to be discharged. They were terrible sometimes the nurse's would keep him waiting for his meds for 2-3 hours. The staff was not as attentive to his needs as they should've been. I hope it's different these days.

My mother had dementia and had been living at Chelsea's place since 2018. She was able to care for herself at the time of her arrival but has always told us it was a bad place, cried and wanted to come with us. We were unaware we could move her as state by her CP social worker. She would tell us people were touching her inappropriately, the staff were mean and that she wouldn't shower because this is when it would happen. I have contacted the police, DPH and ombudsman back in Feb 2023. Residents in the rehab section were reporting to me that staff were abusing my mother and her injuries were a result of that. When I called the police and reported swelling of her arm, hip pain etc the staff told law enforcement the fall just happened but it was clearly not the case and I had no way of proving it. Since then they locked her in a wheelchair calling her a fall risk, took her rights away to use the restroom forcing her to use adult diapers stating she was incontinent (but it was staffing not having time to toilet her) and putting bars up around the bed labeling her a fall risk and not allowing her the ability to get up.When I saw my mother in April she wanted so badly to get up from her wheelchair but I was told she is not allowed. I could see her sadness in her face and her frustration and felt helpless. I noticed she was much thinner and requested that Donna the admistrator at the facility have a dietician evaluate her and I also requested that she receive PT so she can be allowed to walk again. This was all discussed back in the beginning of April / end of March. Tuesday April 30th a dietician finally met with Alma and called me to discuss if I would like Alma to go to GI to see about a feeding tube which I agreed to. No appointment was ever scheduled. On June 2nd my aunt was at the facility visiting my mother and noticed she had very labored breathing. She walked out to the nursing station and explained she could see my mother was struggling to get oxygen and could they come evaluate her. The nurse entered the room, looked at my dementia mother and said do you know this women? My mother answered no and the nurse walked away. My aunt called me shortly after saying I should call an ambulance because she felt as though my mother was going to die with how much she was struggling to breathe and the gurgling sound that was coming from her. In the past Donna the admin requested that I call the facility before calling 911 because going to the hospital can be very stressful on a dementia patient. I called the facility and Jessica the phone operator answered and I informed her I need to speak with the nurse care manager because I am going to call 911. They had me on hold for 10 mins and when the nurse finally answered she said for me to call back in 30 minutes because they had all of a sudden called an ambulance. An ICU doctor from Hartford hospital called me saying my mother was in critical condition. She arrived with oxygen levels below 80, weight at 66 pounds, no urine output and unresponsive. Bloody fluid surrounded her heart and fluid around and in her lungs from pneumonia. I gave consent to stick a needle through her chest to drain the fluid and try to save her. The doctor wanted a verbal DNR consent because she is in such a fragile state CPR will crush her chest and she would not survive. Wound care also examined her and explained to me her tailbone is out of her body and the flesh was pulling away. She had a feeding tube to try to give her strength and IV fluids because there was no urine output. Chelsea's place should have noticed the lack of urine output becaue they had a catheter in place at the nursing home. My mother arrived to Hartford hospital emaciated, malnourished, dehydrated, hypotensive, hypoxic, with a arrhythmic heartbeat, and a stage 4 bed ulcer. I'm sure there is more I am forgetting but the end result was they neglected her so much she died and no one cares! We need to do better for our elderly community and hold this facility accountable.

I wouldn't place any person in this community. GIVING THIS PLACE 1 STAR IS WAY TOO GRACIOUS! The entire staff needs to be re-educated on care of diabetics, proper wound care and how to read Dr's orders and adhere to them. The ENTIRE staff (with the exception of the receptionist Jennifer & Anthony) need to take courses on how to interact with care, empathy, compassion with the patient and also realize there are some patients that are knowledgeable in their care & meds. The janitorial staff needs to be educated on how to clean properly and the medical staff needs to be re-educated on how to pick up things off the floor. I have pictures of items left on the floor for over 3-4 days. It was the longest 98 days of my son's life! We tried to get a transfer to another community but it didn't work out. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! It should be shut down and why it is still in operation is beyond my comprehension!

I wanted to expedite getting my inheritance. Luckily this facility caters to this specific need. Between the poor living conditions and blatant neglect by the healthcare providers , your loved ones are only a week away from a severe case of sepsis or a hypoglycemic emergency. Thanks Chelsea Place!
