About Family Healing Center A Program Central Clinic

Central Clinic Behavioral Health – CDC Family Healing Center is a community based facility in Hamilton, Ohio. Children, adults, and families can receive targeted outpatient care for addiction and mental health. You’ll have access to the tools to strengthen your family as you work towards long term recovery.

Their program provides comprehensive treatment to encourage healing and rebuilding your family. They offer diagnostic assessments, case management, and family and individual therapy to help you mend relationships with your loved ones.

What stands out most to me is they’re certified in responsive and trauma informed care. Their compassionate team understands the negative effects trauma can have on families. They account for these barriers by providing individualized, culturally competent interventions. You can access relational therapy sessions utilizing trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, structured sensory interventions for traumatized children, adolescents, and parents, and the cultural trauma treatment model.

I also love how they specialize in family healing. Addiction and co occurring disorders can tear families apart. They strive to foster healthy family units. You’ll benefit from learning core aspects of parenting, such as parent child attachment and bonding, family communication, effective nurturing skills, empathy, safe parenting practices, and more.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs are designed to ensure clients receive continuing care while in the maintenance phase of recovery. Some clients may be in outpatient treatment, which is generally considered to be an element of drug rehab aftercare. The specific services provided in these programs are often determined by the client's case manager and care team in consultation with the client. Common services include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Therapists who apply motivational interviewing in Ohio don't try to confront clients or force advice onto them. Instead, they listen and come alongside clients to help them explore why and how they might decide to make changes for themselves.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

CDC Family Healing Center is a trauma treatment center utilizing evidenced based treatment models to enhance children and families to achieve overall health and wellbeing, and build resiliency to alleviate barriers to reunification. Family Healing Center (FHC) is certified in Trauma Informed and Responsive Care. This allows all FHC staff to better address the relationship between the neurobiological effects of trauma and its impact on children, families, and the community. In addition, FHC staff is trained in hands on interventions to assist in healing the damage done from trauma.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills provide stability. They increase the strengths that you bring to recovery by equipping you with the tools you need to navigate daily life. During rehab, you'll develop these strengths through life skills training that focuses on both cognitive and behavioral abilities.

CDC is a waste of time. For starters they have communication issues, so they are always contradicting themselves, they tell you something over the phone and then tell you a completely different story when you go down there. Then, they are unorganized, so they tend to lose pa ... Read More

Flat out there is some amazing people here. They ensure families actively engage with all of their children. They want to see you be successful. They compliment parents. Take into consideration that their job is to ensure you improve your skills. Every parent has room for improvement. Have an open mind to constructive improvement. I love the ladies that work here. They have seen you at a very tough time in your life. They see you and give compliments. If you do not like it here ,maybe it is because you are not taking their advice. It is part of their job. Reality is there is not a perfect parent out there. Some of the bad reviews with this place I believe is that maybe they were not putting forth the effort. Possibly people need to stop living their life on defense. These ladies and a few men really care about their families. It is not easy for them to watch the kids hearts melt. If you are a client then realize this is your kids time. This is not for you. Yes, it is so you can bond with your child. Please let your child leave your emotions at the door. That time is important for your child. Engage as much as possible and compliment your kids. You can do it. I promise you got this. It is so important to show up. If you do anything on the Case plan the most important part is to be there for your kids. They notice when you do not show up. Please do not take this part of the case lightly. Whatever you have going on outside of visitation do not bring it here. These people tri their best. Your family can and will get through this. Keep an open mind, be respectful, and engage.

I have deleted my previous complaints of FHC as their passive agressivness has escalated. They are dishonest, telling clients one thing, caretakers another and the agencies that provide funding what they want to hear. They have put children, parents, caretakers, and even their own employees at unnecessary risk by removing their mask policy at the worst time, during the increase in cases of the Delta variant. They have two COVID positive employees just after one week of the no mask policy change. CDC mandates all health care facilities wear masks and FHC had no legal right to disobey that mandate in the first place. They provide mental health care, making them a health care facility. They ignore caretaker requests for care including refusing to give the appropriate formula to an infant, and then lied to me, saying they gave it to the infant. They place blame, victimizing clients over bedbugs without any proof to do so. They can continue their pettiness over my parking, however their retaliation has affected the child and this is inexcusable. There are bigger issues going on in their parking lot than their pettiness over me parking in the shade. Some of which involve minors that I will not discuss here.

1) This location is on the bad side of Hamilton where you can see questionable people in the area.2) The building smells of mold3) Very hard to reach staff via phone.4) The waiting area is very small, and has nothing for kids to play with or TV with kids shows.
