After using Hospital for over 8 years and never had a problem, last year had a Procedure done, woke up and I wasn't cleaned up and laying in my feces, I had to yo clean myself up, and the Dr I had was one of the worst for Bed side manners, laid the blame on me. After calling the Patient Care Line and explained what happened, all I got from them was "oops, we will look into it", that was over a year ago and never heard back from them, I'm sure that theyfiled my complaintin the garbage as soon as I hung up. The only thing St Cloud Hospital cares about is how much they Charge each person, instead of treating each patient as a person! Will never go back, transferred all my Medical Records to another hospital in another State and the Care there was 150% than St Cloud for the same Procedure.

The only hospital that I have ever been in where you had to make your own bed and were not given a top sheet. Luckily I had brought a blanket that could be used. You had to find a bedspread while nurses watched. Towels were not changed and you had to request to get them. In the time I was there used towels were just put under the sink and not picked up and waste basket never emptied. The room was never cleaned. The only positive item was the food. It was great.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients typically enter inpatient rehab after they complete detox. Inpatient care is also designed for clients who are experiencing a crisis and are at an increased risk of relapse. Clients reside at the treatment center for the duration of their program. Clients engage in intensive addiction counseling, often using CBT, DBT, RBT, motivational interviewing or other proven modalities. Many inpatient rehabs offer recovery-focused life skills training. Evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation and yoga, may be included.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Withdrawal from alcohol and drugs can be uncomfortable - even dangerous - without the proper medical supervision. The safest way to remove addictive substances from your body is with a medically supervised detox where a team of on-site medical professionals can monitor your health and progress 24/7, then administer medications (like Suboxone or Vivitrol) if necessary to mitigate symptoms of withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug addiction is defined as an inability to stop using drugs even though it causes negative consequences in your life. Drug rehab in Minnesota provides treatment for drug addiction in a variety of settings including inpatient treatment and outpatient treatment.

The Dual Diagnosis Program teaches clients how addiction issues affect mental illness. This program is available to residential and full-day outpatient clients. Various therapists specialize in DBT, chronic pain management, ADD/ADHD, co-dependency, eating disorders and dual disorders.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Therapists often use cognitive behavioral therapy in Minnesota to treat substance use disorders because it can help clients quickly identify challenges and ways to cope with them. Its structured, specific methods require fewer sessions than other types of therapy.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Counseling is professional guidance to help a person, family, or group of individuals recognize and deal with issues that are interfering with their mental well-being. Counseling involves regular meetings (sessions) with a qualified counselor, such as a psychiatrist, psychologist, licensed professional counselor, or clinical social worker. Counseling, which may also be called psychotherapy or therapy, can be done on an individual, family, or group basis.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Couples therapy in Minnesota can help you understand yourself and your partner better and identify the issues causing stress in the relationship. From finances to addiction to children, you'll learn skills to deal with various stressors and strengthen your relationship.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Recreational therapy supports addiction recovery by giving you enjoyable activities that improve your overall well being. Treatment centers may include team sports, arts and crafts, or outdoor activities to help reduce your cravings, alleviate stress, and build a supportive community network that helps maintain long term sobriety.

Go anywhere else for surgery. I broke my leg and didn't have any open wounds or bones sticking out. I had surgery at this location and got an infection. This required two additional surgeries after that. Then they told me I was all clear and didn't need anymore. I felt something was off so I begged them to run tests for an infection. They refused and said I'm fine. I went to a different doctor to find out the infection was back and I was months behind.i I had a total of 3 surgeries for an infection THEY CAUSED. Then I asked for them to help me on the bill and they refused. I was sent to the ER at one point because their nurses pushed the pic line too far into my heart and caused heart issues for a day before I went in.

I was mis diagnosed. I was told I have broken foot I don't/didn't have anything broken. I was told to wear a boot and didn't need to. Why would a doctor at your hospital tell me I have broken foot when I don't.

I have never in my life seen a hospital team that cared so little about the patients family members concerns as this place my father came in with a bleeding ulcer that was causing him to lose blood the gastrointestinal doctor on call for the weekend took over 4 hours to begin helping him it took us calling my uncle who is a practicing gastrointestinal doctor from another state to get the ball moving on his care. The following day after the procedure the doctor was so arrogant and obviously mad that my family had chosen to get my uncle involved that he refused to meet with the family and patient afterwards to explain what was done and found I have never seen a doctor more concerned about his own ego than the care of his patients and having no empathy for the family. If you want a empathetic doctor who cares about his patients and their families don t go here

My husband was in hospital for a little over a week and while he did receive good care, most of the nursing staff, do not listen when someone is telling them what is wrong and why. They seem to feel that because they hold a nursing degree they know more about a patient even when that patients spouse who lives with them has more information then they do. The nurses need to stop and listen to what is being said and stop being so patronizing. My husband had left paperwork that needed to be filled out and five days later it was still not filled out. He needed this paperwork to get a paycheque and to be put on short term disability. The response he received when he called about it after learning nothing had been sent to his HR Manager was "it's not our fault" people there need to take responsibility and accountability for their actions which most of the staff can't seem to do. I know you are going to say you are sorry for the experience and to contact Patient Care but why it just goes in one ear and out the other and nothing changes.

Response from the owner1 month ago
We thank you for detailing your concerns in this review and we will be passing this along to our leaders at the hospital. We do ask people to call our Patient Relations Team because they are listening and can take action, including passing along this information to a direct department and education for our team members so they can do better for you and for other patients. We apologize for the frustration this caused and, again, thank you for making us aware.

You all didn t take very good care of my mom before she passed away so I never liked you all anyway but how dare you tell a 61 year old man that was diagnosed with both brain cancer and lung cancer to take his walker and a blanket and walk two hours home on top of that threaten to arrest him because we weren t there when you all wanted us there God will get you for that
