outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

aftercare iconAftercare

Clients enrolled in rehab aftercare programs have completed high-level treatment and are typically in the maintenance phase of their recovery, receiving customized services designed to support their sustained sobriety. Case managers and care teams typically begin to plan for the client's rehab aftercare services early in the treatment process to ensure the client's fluid reentry into their home, workplace, and community. These programs evolve as clients' needs change, and frequently include peer coaching, relapse prevention, and career counseling.

12-step icon12-Step

12 step programs enable participants to focus on their long-term sobriety through rigorous peer support and ongoing personal growth. They engage in regular, peer-directed 12 step meetings and receive one-on-one mentoring by a self-selected sponsor. Meetings are free, anonymous, and available multiple times a day, 365 days per year in most communities. Though 12 steps of recovery are rooted in spiritual principles, religious affiliation isn't mandatory. Specialized programs are widely available, including youth and family meetings.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Collaboration between a professional treatment team and the family of an addicted loved one is an essential benefit of intervention services in Louisiana. Working together, they can develop the best strategies for a drug intervention. These experienced professionals know what protocols are most effective for interventions and provide expert insight that can improve the outcome of the intervention. An intervention specialist acts as a mediator during the intervention and a guide for next steps based on the outcome of the effort.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

While each drug rehab in Louisiana offers unique elements, recovery support often follows a similar pattern. Detox is followed by inpatient and/or outpatient care, then aftercare support is provided once the participant completes the initial program.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

I am new here after Waskom closed their clinic. All I can say is I miss Waskom. I am already having problems with this place claiming my urine is light. This is crazy. I never had dirty screens or diluted screens in Waskom. I was told that this has been a problem with everyone coming from Waskom. Love my counselor but the nurses are lacking. I will give an update once I learn more. So far, I'm not pleased but my life depends on treatment. Update: This place is good. I've finally found out the problem with my urine screens were coming from me retaining fluid from a heart issue that is now under control. The nurses are truly awesome and I'm very happy with my treatment plan and counselor. Update: This place has changed for the worse. First they got rid of the security guard, who kept things running smoothly. Plus every time you go to the clinic, there is a line outside. For those of us who have jobs, this is extremely frustrating. All of the good nurses are gone, and for good reason. Someone has totally changed the way this place runs, and unfortunately those changes have not been beneficial for those seeking help with an addiction. I'm really contemplating going back to Waskom. I actually love my counselor and the new nurses are nice but this place has changed a lot. Please fix this.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. If you're doing an out of state transfer, don't come here. They take their time getting your stuff taken care of in order for you to dose or get a script. They recieved my mothers information yesterday morning and we've been waiting to be seen by the Dr for 4 hours and counting now. And NO you can't use a bathroom unless your a patient so don't bring anyone with you while you wait for hours.

I love this place! It's been a real help when it comes to battling addiction and the people there are lovely, my only complaint is they're only open from 6am-7:30am on Saturdays and it makes me miss my dose alot so that's why I can only give 3 stars

Thank you so much for the kind words and the suggestion. We will forward this on to the Program Director at your location. Getting to your doses is so crucial!
