After 20+ phone calls and about 10 voicemails, two emails to the facility, and a complaint with an operator that told me she d get my note to someone. I never ONCE got a call back. We never got a specific time, no one would call my sister back who was on the HIPAA, everytime an operator transfers you to someone it goes straight to voicemail. This place is extremely embarrassing and unprofessional. I m sure all of the previous reviews say enough. Do not waste your time. Find somewhere better that cares about their patients and can atleast answer a call/voicemail/email!! Wish I could give 0 stars.

If you care about your loved ones steer clear. My brother is suicidal extremely depressed and an alcoholic. We drove him here from Florida so we could get him help closer to us. We were told that no matter what time we arrived he would be able to be easily processed and taken back to his own room. When we showed up my brother who is completely incapable of filling out paperwork is then asked to fill out nine different sheets of paperwork. Then we were told there is no assessment room available at the time and to please take a seat in the lobby. An hour and a half later still no assessment room and multiple people filling up the lobby. My brother has now chosen to not get help and left the facility and I do not believe he will be able to be convinced to go back again. Please if you care about your loved ones do not take them here. My brother's life may not be here tomorrow because of them. I will do everything in my power to prevent anyone from going here.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
IOP seeks to maintain treatment benefits in a structured manner. Continuity of care is observed with an emphasis on continued reintegration into community functioning. Patients typically spend 15 hours per week in various therapy and educational groups. IOP provides a step-down approach from the PHP program and serves as a bridge to more traditional, less intensive outpatient care.
inpatient iconInpatient
In the Inpatient Program, patients receive detailed clinical and medical assessments, psychiatric stabilization, and rehabilitation care. This program offers the advantages of a controlled, structured environment with 24-hour nursing care and intensive treatment not available on an outpatient basis. It may include up to 10 hours per day of programming. During treatment, each patient connects with a treatment team, including a physician, nurse, primary therapist and recreational therapist.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Carrollton Springs also offers a weekly support group for alumni of their Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization, and Intensive Outpatient Programs. The group meets once a week for one hour. The purpose of the alumni group is to provide a forum for alumni to meet together and provide ongoing support to each other.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Animal therapy (aka pet therapy or animal-assisted therapy) can be very healing, as it allows patients to bond with animals, who give unconditional love. This is particularly useful for those who suffered trauma by the hands of people, who may be able to trust and form closer attachments to animals than humans at certain stages of rehabilitation.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Families have the opportunity to participate in education and support groups to increase their understanding of addiction and mental illness. This process helps them learn about themselves and their roles and responsibilities in the recovery process. With this important information in hand, the family has a greater opportunity to reunite and start interacting in a more helpful and healthy manner.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

The Dietary program at Carrollton Springs is carefully planned to provide food that meets the recommended dietary requirements. Well-balanced meals are served in a cafeteria style setting. A Registered Dietitian will provide consultation as needed in planning regular and special diets. Snacks and drinks are available on the unit.

Honest review of CS.I came in out of desperation to get help with my mental health. I called the hotline and the lady I spoke with was so kind, empathetic and reassuring. She let me know if I was to voluntarily stay I will need to bring a bag and she provided clear instructions on what to bring and what not to bring. Me being overwhelmed I packed half the stuff she told me not to bring. (My items were taken to the property room with my name labeled on it).Fast forward to getting there about an hour later. It was about 3pm 9/24. I arrive and the front desk ppl were nice. They took my vitals and shortly after I was taken to an intake room. I waited about 10 mins for an intake nurse to come in and ask me a bunch of questions about why I m there. I ask her multiple time how long I d need to stay. THIS IS WHERE I WAS LIED TO. She told me I could stay 3-4 days so I agreed to the voluntary admission ( I did not leave CS til 8 days later!). I was also told I would not be in a u it with addicts. She told me metal health was separate from addiction. I waited in that intake room for 4.5 hours! Even in my right mind that unacceptable. Especially when the nurse says she will be back shortly. When someone is going through issues like that, it s NOT okay to just leave them high and dry for 4.5 hours. I got to the point where I turned on the emergency light to have someone come see me. MULTIPLE staff members walked past my room and didn t even bother to ask if I was okay. They just stared in and kept it moving. I had no knowledge of where the bathroom was when I found it it was locked. I m in distress and I couldn t function staying in a small room. I requested the nurse come see me. At 7pm she let me know the intake nurse was on her way to come get me to admit me into the hospital. She assured me it would be no long than 10 mins. That nurse didn t get there till close to 8 pm.The admitting nurse was nice. They took all my belongings but they let me know the process of what will happen to them and why they couldn t stay with me. I got into the Cedar Unit around 9. Dinner had already been served. So I had to opt for chips and cookies. The rooms were clean. You will get a roommate depending on how busy it is. Beds are awful. The unit holds maybe 26 ppl. My roommate was detoxing so she was sick all night for 3 nights. It was impossible to sleep.Cafeteria is clean. Food is not the best. The cafeteria staff are very friendly. Food most likely sits out. Any bread you get will be rock hard. Sandwiches will be hard. They did have some good food depending on the day. Some days it was absolute slop. The psychiatrist Khan completely ignored a lot of my concerns. I didn t want to take meds to feel better but if I didn t I would be able to leave. When I did take them I was sick and couldn t do to group which was a bad look at my participation effort. I felt like he didn t really care about my feelings. Many nurses in the unit but it seemed they didn t know how to do anything but give out meds. Some ppl had serious issues with health and they would ask the patient what to do. Why are you asking her? She doesn t know! A girl experienced 2 seizures and ppl mentioned the staff took too long to respond.Group therapy with Olivia was great. She was a good person. She handled request well and always followed up with me did I needed something.Getting I touch with your loved ones here can be difficult unless you have the correct phone number that will ring the phone in their unit. The nurses and techs were respectful in most cases. Amyrra, Alesha, Charles, & more were very good to me during my stay.I did learn a lot. I do appreciate the opportunity for getting the help I needed. However this is not a place I would like to return.

Carrolton Springs recommended an inpatient level of care, then changed their recommendation to a lower level of care based exclusively on finances instead of patient care. This facility does not operate by standards of best practice, contradicts their own clinical recommendations. Will never refer here again.

I was an outpatient at Carrollton Springs. On Friday , Sept. 23rd I arrived for my therapy and suffered a panic attack. I suffer from depression and PTSD. When I tried to leave the facility, And attempted to pull the unlocked door open the staff on the other side of the door were pushing me and locking me inside. It triggered me and I was in such distress i cut the top of my arm with a colored pencil. They then moved me to an inpatient wing. When I would not sign paperwork admitting myself I was told the longer I resisted the longer I would be locked up. They assaulted me and caused me injury, refused my pleas to make a phone call or to call the police and instead left me alone in an unfamiliar impatient hallway with no windows. After 2-3 hours I began checking doors and was able to find a door unlocked. I breached and escaped their highly secure mental hospital and the Plano police took me to a ER in plano. Earlier in the week, I described an incident when I was a child and being locked or trapped in a room. Please do not send your loved ones to this facility as they do not care about patients but rather money. I am seeking legal action as they are refusing to release the video from the time I entered voluntarily until the time I escaped. The Carrollton police had tried to contact them and received no answer. This is not only illegal but inhumane. This should never ever happen to anyone again. Please read all reviews and do not send any loved ones to this facility for help.

Allegations of Kidnapping, Physical Abuse, and Being Held Against Will Proceed with CautionIn August 2024, my sister experienced a deeply distressing situation at this facility. She had a severe panic attack and was allegedly physically restrained against her will by Carrollton Springs Staff. According to her account, staff repeatedly asked if she wanted to harm herself, despite her insistence that she did not. It seemed as though they were more focused on committing her involuntarily than addressing her immediate distress.Personally I am concerned that financial incentives, such as potential insurance payouts for inpatient commitments, may have played a role in their handling of her case. Why else would someone allegedly beat someone into submission? My sister felt that her refusal to sign admission papers led to extended confinement, which raises serious questions about their motivations. She described being physically pushed to the floor by staff, leaving her with cuts and bruises. Despite requesting medical attention and asking to contact a friend, her requests were ignored. She was left alone for hours in a locked hallway without windows. Eventually, she managed to leave the facility barefoot, without her phone or money, and was found by passersby who called the police and was rushed to the emergency room where this incident was documented by the police, an ambulance and was rushed to the Emergency Room and there is a case number. Our requests for video footage and records have gone unanswered. It appears that legal action may be necessary to ensure the preservation of evidence and accountability for what happened. The ceo needs to contact her immediately. ThisLegal Notice:I hereby formally request on behalf of Patient Melton and a directive she has already stated: that this facility preserve all evidence related to my sister s case from August 23, 2024. This includes, but is not limited to, all video and audio recordings, staff cell phone records, phone calls, notes, and communications from that date. Any destruction or alteration of this evidence will be seen as an attempt to obstruct justice, and will be addressed accordingly in litigation. Our previous requests for the preservation of video footage and records have gone unanswered. We are prepared to take legal action to ensure accountability and transparency in this matter.

Haven't been to the actual facility, but was interested in seeking more informationregarding services offered. After speaking with a representative it seems like they are really only looking to help INSURED drug addicts.... I am guessing this is more a private owned substance abuse rehab clinic....Not a mental health facility

Absolutely the worst place you can go. If I could give this negative stars I would. The lack of communication is just unacceptable. They claim they have a team 24/7 but yet when you request to speak to someone they have no one here. Seems odd in my opinion. Also seems like they are running an insurance scam to keep people here longer than needed. I will absolutely be filing a complaint with the state. The way they do business here is a disgrace to the medical field.
