I admitted my uncle into this facility for rehabilitation. My uncle was very uncomfortable at first but once the staff spoke with him and assured him that he would get the best care possible he then felt okay. Right from the beginning the staff was very friendly. The young reception went above and beyond by letting me know that she would make it her goal to check on him to make sure he felt okay andnot so homesick. My uncle is now out of this facility healthier than ever. Thank you so much Cambridge cares for taking such good care of him.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

I debated between 2 and 1 stars but chose two because there were a few people there that seemed to be trying and a couple items that werent that bad. My 89 year old mother was there for a short period of stay. Nobody likes a bad review but when to fail in so many ways, I felt a responsibility to share our experience.First the good things: her first room was very comfortable. The receptionist was exceptionally accomodating, informative and made us feel welcome when we visited which was weekly or more. The social worker was also a big help, especially when getting her transfered. The activities director seemed very motivated to add some fun into the lives of those staying there. Now, the not so good things: I could make a longer list but want to stick to the most important. The food was always cold.My mother had a colostomy bag and although they said they were trained, it was obvious, they were not trained very well and most we felt, not at all. They struggled with getting the correct devices and proceedures for those devices. My mother and I were constantly correcting them, instructing them. They were even trying to use Urostomy bags designed for urine in place of colostomy bags for three days which are not anything like each other and cannot be interchanged. These were leaking all over the place. The head nurse was involved with this decision. It was a health risk and showed thier incompetence. Only when I pointed it out to the head nurse and charge nurse was it corrected. My mother was in a wheelchair and was a fall risk. The bathrooms were barely big enough to allow the wheelchair into the bathrooms and the CNA's didnt know how to install a toilet riser and did so poorly of a job that my mother almost fell and had to insist they change it out or secure it better. He lost clothing in the laundry and had some of her clothes bleached that were colored. She was constantly having to ask for water, even though we established at the beginning that a person on a colostomy needs extra water than the normal person because they no longer absorb water through the colon. This was a serious health risk and they would forget or bring her a small amount after 40 minutes and being in a wheelchair it was hard for her to get it herself.Understaffed, she couldnt see so she couldnt deal with the colostomy so whenever she would asked for anything or to be changed, the typical response was, "ok sure, let me do this other thing real quick and I'l be back" which they wouldnt or it would take them 1 hour to get back to her. They cancelled a very important doctors appointment at last minute without informing us due to lack of transportation. It took us months to get that appointment. One of the head nurses was very rude telling my wheelchair bound mother, "you can walk, you are just choosing not to because to want to be waited on" ... how dare them. She got a blood clot while she was in there and the nurses were constantly messing up her medications and didnt seem to know what they were doing. One nurse would complain that the other nurse made a mistake and the other nurse would argue the other on made the mistake. This was another serious heath concern. They moved my mother into another room and her roomate blasted the TV all night long which meant my mother couldnt get much sleep. The staff said they couldnt do anything about it. After a week of very little sleep, they moved her into another room to try and help, but the new roomate did the same exact thing. All night long, TV on full volume. My mother was miserable.I tried to complain to the admistrator numerous times but couldnt get any returned calls from him. Guess he didnt care.I could go on, but these are the most important experiences to share. My mother was finally able to get transfered out of there and into a great facility owned by the same parent company. Shortly after moving, she passed away and I hate it to think the time she spent at this facily was so terrible towards the end of her life. It shouldnt have been.

My mom worked there 24 years ago. Sometimes she would take my brother and I to visit. I remember one time a lady resident gave my brother a toy clown and she gave me a teddy bear, which I still own to this day. Another resident gave us the movie Lost and Found, we still have it as well. Very nice memories of this place. The staff and the residents were always very nice to us. Back then when we would visit, I was 9 years old and my brother was 5 or 6.

My grandmother is a patient here and she s under hospice care. I am her medical POA and not once have they updated me, I call to check in and you either can t reach anyone or they say I m not listed so they can t tell me if she s even okay. I offered to send copies of the medical POA to them, take the papers down there even, and they still refuse to tell me how she s doing.

I just had to write a review for Cambridge Care Center. The wonderful woman at the front desk with the red hair was a Complete Gem. She took time to show me around the facility when she was busy doing other things. Being that I was a walk-in on a spare of the moment I was looking for a facility for my father who needs good care. And I'm really highly considering this facility just by the first impression of her. Unfortunately I didn't remember her name but she was the receptionist and she deserves all the credit for being a wonderful caring knowledgeable employee. Just thought I should share this.
