i have been to several other treatment centers and also worked for a few as a tech and supervisor... when i came here i expected the same thing but was shocked to learn of things i have never heard of that actually helped me to stay sober. ACTUAL TOOLS I CAN PULL OUT AND USE WHEN TRIGGERED. i have been promised this several times but never have i ever actually been given actual coping skills. the lady who teaches DBT is a god send... her classes are powerful and she gives clients things to practice that for me have actually work. my therapist has pulled things out of me that i never thought i had the strength to share with another human which lead to an ultimate surrender and peace i have never known. the case managers are rock solid and make me feel seen heard and cared for. Banyon was the last house on the block for me.... I had burned everything down and expected to get clean and sober the same way i had tried 20 previous times but the staff and the group of men and women that were there with me literally saved my life. i HIGHLY recommend this treatment center. im writing this review with hopes that someone who has never been to treatment before will see this and let Banyon palm springs be there first and last... i Pray you dont have to do this as many times as i have had to do or burn everything down like i have. please give these people and honest shot cause they care and are the best i have ever seen in this field. If they can help me....a hope to die junkie/drunk... then they can help anybody (if you just follow and trust what they tell you)thank you Banyon.... you have given me the tools to be happy no matter what life throws my way

St John of God is now Phoenix House. They just opened their doors after receiving the county contract. This comes after SJOG went out of business. Phoenix House offers inpatient care and medication assisted treatment with medications to help persons reduce the need to use dangerous drugs like fentanyl and begin a new path of recovery.There is a men s side and a female side that are separated, each with its drug and alcohol program. Transportation to appointments is provided. There are individual and group counseling sessions, mental health treatment, nursing on site, and a Medical Doctor. They also have case management team to assist the patient receive outside services including housing and for aftercare. They have on site kitchen and dining rooms, laundry, refurbished dorms, meeting and group rooms, a pool, outside gym and recreation yard and various entertainment activities and workshops are done throughout each day.

I came in broken and with no hope to live, my life was in shattered in pieces and i lost sight of my God. I had thought my God had abandoned me, it was hard at first cause i had left the only comfort i had at home and i was scared but upon settling in and getting to know the staff and the clients i started putting my gaurd down. Working the program took some dedication on my part and a little challenging but after learning that surrender was the key to my recovery all else fell into place, now i know i can live free in Jesus and not worry anymore. Care was fantastic. 10. I came in unbeknownst to me with a pretty serious infection. Entire team was fantastic helping and caring for me as I healed. Hats off!Facility was good. There were some things that could use improvements such as the heater for the pool and the amphitheater but all in all the things which matter the most such as residential housing was a 10. PhP housing gets an 8. IOP same housing as PhP.People. Best I've seen at a treatment facility. 10. You really, if I may; develop a bond with your fellow addicts and alcoholics. Almost a brotherhood with which the majority of seemingly really do want to heal. This creates a fantastic opportunity to truly embrace the process.Food. I truly wish I could write this differently I have to give a 5. Keep in mind however that this is circumstantial to my time there. Being as such had I been there 4 weeks earlier it would have been and started off much better but due to what I assume were budget cuts majority of the kitchen staff quit. This left the food lacking in creativity and a lot of repeats such as hot dogs with fries and grilled cheese with tomato soup. I would check to be sure this has been resolved. Cleanliness also not the best. Not horrible but there were a slight rodent problem but keep in mind your in the middle of the woods so to be fair it was they're home first I suppose. Bathrooms a cafeteria I was I could give more credit but let's not put lipstick on a pig. They need a serious facelift.To sum up, it's a fantastic and wonderful environment to take recovery serious. The positives greatly outweigh the negatives. Greatly recommend with an overall of 8.6 of 10.

Spent a month here back in the summer of 2016Had a wonderful experience and bonded with all the other people I was there with. Haven't touched alcohol since July 13th 2016. I always look back on the month I spent here fondly despite the circumstances of needing to check in to rehab being one of the darkest times of my life. The people complaining it's not some 5 star hotel are mental. Yeah you get a tiny bed, you have a bunk mate and the facilities arent the greatest but if you're spending time here you're not there for pleasure. The group therapy and structured days were exactly what my addict/alcoholic self needed. The fact it wasn't some bourgeoisie cushy hotel stay helped me focus on what I was there to do which was to address my alcoholism and addiction. The food was good and and the staff was firm yet caring and considerate. If my insurance would have covered a 3 month stay I would have stayed longer than a month.

I absolutely loved this place. The best place to get help and to grow and understand yourself more. I couldn t have made it where I am today without their help. I am 1 yr and 3 months sober. I am a house manager for a sober living and I work in a detox facility as well. I am doing things I never thought possible for myself, let alone being able to manage as much as I do now.
