Bayside Marin is an excellent treatment center.At first, I didn't want to go here, mainly because of negative reviews and hearsay from an acquaintance, and corporate ownership.But I quickly changed my mind. I came here devestated by a very traumatic year of my life, in as much of a mental health crisis as I was in a substance one. Throughout the length of my stay, I was treated with understanding, patience and compassion.The bulk of their program is cookie cutter evidence based, but high quality.The employees at Bayside really care about their work, and their clients, and because of this it didn't have a corporate feel, even though they're owned by Acadia.What made this stay extra special for me was the therapy and one on one conversations I had with staff. I had the honor and privilege of working with the best therapist I've ever seen. When there's a true match with therapy it can be magical, spiritual. I have transformed into a better version of myself because of the one on one work with my therapist, whose intelligence, wit, patience, and compassion helped me to rise above and shine, despite facing some extremely challenging triggers in residential this time. When you can't fully care about yourself, sometimes you can borrow someone else's faith in you until you're able to care about yourself a little more. By the end of my stay, I felt more confident and centered than I had in a long time.I also wanted to say, the tech supervisor helped guide me psychologically and spiritually as I faced various challenges at Bayside, and helped revive my interest in spirituality, meditation and awakening.I had the best spiritual and psychological support I could have asked for, which I thought would be impossible after being at Olympia House in 2022. (Both are good rehabs with their unique strengths and weaknesses. I learned a lot at both, but they're not directly comparable, OH is a little more unique in terms of approach and programming. Bayside was extra meaningful because of the particular therapist I worked with, the behavioral technician supervisor I mentioned and the particular clients I bonded with.They actually listen to client feedback and I watched them make numerous improvements over the three months I was there.With that said, there is room for further improvement. Clients are shuffled over to the main campus from detox with very little explanation of where to go and when, which leaves freshly detoxed clients confused, angry, and feeling disrespected. I've been told they're working on fixing this problem.Scheduling glitches do happen, but that's true of any medium or large rehab. They do their best. And also, sometimes communication can be a little complicated between departments. No place is perfect.Gorgeous campus. Food was great. I was told this was a rehab for rich people who valued aesthetics over content, but that's not what I found here. They have some incredible talent working for them and client socioeconomic backgrounds are mixed.Last. I would encourage people, strongly, to ask to change their therapist if the initial assignment isn't a match. I did, and it made all the difference in my stay.

This is the best ADU (crisis residential program) in San Francisco and a gem of the public mental health system in The City. Very client centered, veteran staff, many of whom have worked here for many years... They prioritize client needs and the client's experience, and safety. Well maintained, clean, beautiful facility. Bilingual program, signs are in English and Spanish and groups are interpreted for Spanish only speakers.This is a social model program, like the other ADUs in San Francisco. There are multiple therapeutic groups per day, counseling, referral to case management or other services in San Francisco, and meals included. You're allowed to leave the facility to attend to errands, appointments, or outside support after an initial "orientation" period. They will help set you up with whatever resources you may need.At LEAST three employees still work here (it's April 2024, my last visit was in 2012). Call Dore Urgent Care Clinic or speak to a case manager for referral.Typical length of stay: Two weeks, possible referral to longer term residential treatment.Medicare and/or Medi-Cal, Healthy San Francisco, no insurance, Kaiser accepted. I rated Villa 5 stars because this was the only place I was able to be comfortable. They had a daily schedule of different things to do. During your stay you can have visitors and after the 72 hr hold give you passes to leave the campus for an hour or so. The staff was great and the patients were also welcoming. If I needed help this is where I would go. Thank you for saving me.. from myself.

I gave it a 4 out of 5 because this rehab is great, with the exception of the director Emily. Ms. Kata and Ms. Linda were fantastic, as were many other faculty. It s a great place to be confined without drugs, and the counselors like Mr. Tom and Ms. Rachel spoke volumes to me. Great place especially for active duty military and veterans!My only problem was with Emily the director at the time who will did anything and everything to keep one at the rehab. I think she just wanted the insurance money.Eventually, I left on my own accord because very little counseling is offered. One on one sessions were rare and by the end of my stay, I left because we were just watching movies during group sessions the whole time.All in all, worth the stay but they will be time where people like Emily will test your patience. She may be gone, so hopefully there s someone new.Celebrating two years sober!!! Thank you Helios!

But of course,...it could be me, the silence when I enter the place and say "hi" and get no reply ...Otherwise, the place is doing it's job... Although I wonder what the official job title and description is (Of Veteran Case Managers or anyone assigned a potential influence over my fate) ...and what freedoms they are given to recommend a vet to, say, a place they know the vet won't fit in......we all know when someone bears you Ill will, and when it's those assigned to your care, however minor, it Instills distrust in our institutions.

A VERY nice detox center. The staff here are some of the most knowledgeable and caring individuals you'll ever meet. They'll go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. The single rooms you stay in each have their own individual bathroom. Their is plenty of food to snack on with healthy options and just enough comfort food to make you feel at home. If you're looking for a comfy rehab with an intimate group setting to talk through your deeply routed issues that got you there in the first place, I can't recommend this place enough. Honestly, I could go on for hours about how incredible of a detox center this is, but you get the gist.
