My husband came to Tri City for acute rehab after being in a very bad car accident. (He is 37 years old and very fit prior to his accident). We were transferred to Tri City from Scripps La Jolla for their acute rehab program specifically. We had a great experience. The nurses were fantastic. They answered all our questions and if they did not have the answers they contacted our original doctors at Scripps La Jolla and got the answers.Our goal for acute rehab was to get my husband more independent and comfortable with transfers in and out of his wheel chair along with upper body's strengthening and pain management. The therapy did just this. We was confident with his transfers and even getting in and out of my car which was a huge leap of independence (otherwise we would have to do ambulance rides). I am a physical therapist myself so know what to look for in a rehab department.All of my husbands therapy sessions were one on one with a therapist. He had 3 hours of therapy a day. From what I learned the other acute rehab in north county does a lot of group rehab sessions which would not have been ideal for our situation. Tri Cit's acute rehab has the best outcomes in north county as well.I also want to point out that tri city has had some leadership changes in the last few years. With these changes Tri City has become a place that staff are proud to work at. They are kind and compassionate and are patient focused. I would recommend Tri City's acute rehab hands down.
