I was at the lowest point of my life and about to give up any hope of finding my way out of the total darkness of major depressive disorder. Like so many people that have fought depression for years, I had tried everything to ease the pain for over 40 years. I was made aware of a wonderful place in California that helps people like me. I researched and read any and all reviews I could find. I managed the strength to get to the Beach House in Malibu. I was virtually lifeless when I got there, but I told myself that this just might be the best opportunity I will have in my life. I listened, learned, did the work of changing the way I think about things every day. I dedicated everything that I had psychologically and committed myself like never before. Eventually, I was given the fundamentals to understand why I felt like I did before, along with priceless therapy by the most wonderful people that have ever worked with me prior to this. One day, in a group session with lots of people around, I stood up and said "I love me" for the first time in my life! At that moment, my journey to recovery began. Without hesitation, I will always recommend this place, these people and all of the resources here. This leap of faith to find help saved my life!! That's right, just as I was about to give up completely, the Beach House family took the time and effort to lead me toward the happiness that I enjoy today.

I am a former employee and current contractor at Milestones Ranch Malibu, having been Clinical Director in the past and presently working as a group therapist. But more to the point, I am a huge fan of Milestones. Owned and operated by the incredibly caring and talented social worker Denise Klein and her daughter Savannah Ganje, Milestones has provided in-depth assistance to clients and families for the past 20 plus years.I have seen hundreds of clients benefit from the various evidence-based modalities utilized by the Milestones clinical staff including dynamic and CBT therapy, hypnotherapy, group therapy, addiction counseling and EMDR as well as adjunct services including psychiatry, sound bath, music therapy, and more.In addition to myself, there are other long-time staff members including Celeste Racicot, Ron Borczon, and Joey Tabbanella. It s always a positive sign when staff members sign on for the long haul it shows that they love the family atmosphere, the good vibes, the sense of helping people in a program that is all about integrity, warmth and expert care.Employees are supervised and trained by Denise, Savannah, Celeste and Amber to ensure that meals are prepared on time, paychecks delivered on time and that the facility sparkles and shines. Milestones is a fantastic training ground for those interested in working in the fields of psychology and/or recovery. I often say that after a stint at Milestones, every employee is ready to run their own rehab center! Employees who are dedicated, hardworking and client-centered flourish in the Milestones milieu.But what makes Milestones stand out, and why I continue on with this amazing program is notwithstanding the clinical knowledge and practice, or the amenities, food, and cozy rooms - is the setting. It s a small facility, designed purposely to be intimate so as to give clients individualized attention on a beautiful Malibu ranch. Milestones is unique.Oh, one last thing. Milestones is the kind of place where if you call admissions and they think you are not a fit for them or that there is a program more suited to your needs, they will never try to sell you or convince you to come to Milestones but instead give you referrals to other well-respected and effective programs. Now that s integrity!

I late 1999, after many unsuccessful treatment stays in other facilities, I walked through the front door at Promises, Malibu a very sick and hopeless man, but I left a new person. The clinicians, techs and administrators were courteous, helpful and empathetic from my first day. Therefore, for their helping hands I will always be thankful!

The staff is very caring and are positive people to be around. They will go above and beyond for you. The location is so pretty & serene. We love everyone there thank you Danielle, Caitlin, vanessa, Cristian, Frank, Dr. Ray, Jess & Emily you are all awesome and we are very grateful for the help getting clean
