Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are designed to provide support to you after completing an addiction treatment program. These programs are highly customized and evolve with your changing needs. You'll partner with staff at the treatment center to identify any specific medical, behavioral, and social services needed to support your sustained sobriety. Aftercare services may include peer coaching, career counseling, and other personalized support.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Alabama provides medical or psychotherapeutic treatment for drug dependency. Methods of treatment often include a combination of medication, counseling, and recreational therapies.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Experiential therapy in Alabama includes physical and emotional activities. Participants learn to focus on and identify their feelings through hands on interventions such as art, music, and wilderness adventures. The goal is to overcome negative emotions and improve thought and behavior patterns.

I truthfully don t know if I would be sober today without this place. The staff is remarkable and the experience I had was amazing. You get out what you put in and if you have an open mind and an open heart this place will change your life.

The experience I had at the Repreive literally changed my life. It is a well run organization from the top down. The staff really cares about you and wants to see you get sober and be happy. They are patient, honest, encouraging, and all have experienced the feeling you have when you get there. I have created friendships that will last a lifetime. I have the tools I need to stay sober. I can t put into words what this place means to me. If you want to get sober go to the Repreive and listen to what they say. Also, Mike Denmark is the new director who took over recently. He was my specialist and is an absolute legend. The guy has so much wisdom and is down to earth and the kind of man you aspire to be. He has a wife and kids and stays at work late, will come in on weeknights and weekends, and really really cares about what he does.

I came through here at 18 years old and wasn t ready to get sober. When I left I was given many phone numbers from employees and residents who constantly checked in with me asking if they could help me in any way. When I came back at 20 I was welcomed with open arms. I formed some of the best relationships that I ve ever had. I felt that I had an army of people around me that genuinely had my best interest at heart. If it wasn t for the reprieve I wouldn t be where I am today. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for everyone here.

The Reprieve saved my life. The step work presented by the staff is unmatched in my experience. The entire staff is recovering addicts and that s what I loved the most about it. The staff not only cares about their residents, but also has their own experience to back up their words. I couldn t imagine getting sober anywhere else!

BUYER BEWARE: after several months here it was obvious I needed a change once their true colors came out. The 12 Step therapy is pretty good depending on which specialist you get. They have two specialist for their first phase. One is college educated and in LT sobriety who does a phenomenal job. The other however is the exact opposite.. He is not educated with the exception to being in LT sobriety with his whole approach centered around tearing the residents down with insults.. very egotistically and emotionally driven. If you are lucky to get the first specialist, your chances in LT recovery are much higher based off graduations in the program. The RA staff also has some really good ones and some really bad ones. There is zero respect to HIPPA regarding medications and treatment. The psych doctor loads everyone up on many medications and then some of the RA staff giving out meds will passively criticize you and make it known to the entire house how annoyed they are that they have to give you so many medications. Then, residents follow suit and poke fun about you taking multiple meds. Very unprofessional. The rules don t apply to everyone equally. There were people that would keep certain meds and give them to others regularly. The last instance people were smoking sleep meds off of tin foil and they only received a reprimand, while another was kicked out of the program for having a cell phone. Another resident relapsed 6 times without any delay in his program while another was kicked out for relapsing once. It is all extremely subjective. The living conditions are poor. The entire time during my stay (4 months), bed bugs were a huge issue that was never fully resolved. There were many other things like maggots coming out of shower heads and AC consistently not working. If not careful, all these things can become a block for people in early recovery. All in all, this is a very expensive program costing around $25,000 for 90 days but the offerings to the residents are very limited. If you are looking for a LT treatment due to continued stints in addiction, I would highly recommend looking at other options that focus more on the treatment piece and offer more than 3 - 4 hours of group therapy M-F. And that has standardized processes in regards to rules of the program. There are some really good options out there that cost the same or even less. Once places get bought by large investment groups like the Reprieve, things seem to start going downhill quick.
