Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

The goal of drug rehab in Wisconsin is to address drug addiction as a complex issue that involves physical, mental, and relational aspects. During rehab, treatment focuses on each of these areas and gives you the tools you need to achieve and maintain sobriety.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Gunderson Health System is simply amazing! I've had wonderful care and experiences at all of their locations. Everyone really seems to care about their patients and doing all they can to improve their health. A+ . So lucky to have access to quality healthcare in Wisconsin.

Tardiness. At the Gunderson Clinic in Boscobel they have on the main counter a note to patients,if you are 15 minutes late for your appointment it could be canceled. I thought that was a good thing, As I follow their appointment notice to be there 5 minutes early for check in. Well I was there on time checked in for my 8:15 appointment. I was called at 8:26 to go in. First was weigh in , temp and Height. Next was in to the exam room where a nursing assistant took history and meds to up date chart. Then the BP. Now time was 8:35. I waited until 9:00 then I got up and walked out. Meeting the NP and an RN in the hall way and I told them I was going as they are always tardy but this morning was more than usual. I told them if my appointment could be canceled is I was 15 minutes late I could cancel their appointment because they were 25 minutes late. How could they be running that much late when they open up at 7:45. Furthermore they don't seem to have any Doctors over at the clinic. They say they are trying to hire but the other hospitals and clinics in the area seem to be able to get them. I think they don't want any because it would cost them too much. They seem to be concerned about the BOTTOM LINE not patient care.

We had to go to the ER on a holiday while visiting the area for a mild respiratory issue - They were awesome, super friendly, fast, reasonable and saved our trip to the area. The dr (Cant recall name, but long dark hair) and RN Julia were just awesome, took time to explain things and just a great experience w exactly what my son needed.
