About Bonfire Recovery Services, LLC

Bonfire Recovery Services is a men's sober living halfway house in downtown Dover, New Hampshire. Bonfire Recovery Services offers refuge, structure, and guidance to men who suffer from drug and alcohol addiction.

They are conveniently located between Boston, Massachusetts and Portland, Maine in the scenic New Hampshire Seacoast area. They are a leading provider in New England of extended care for men. The facility sits just yards away from a bus and train station connecting residents to Boston, Portland, nearby UNH and all of Dover and surrounding towns.

The program is abstinence based and clients arrive after having detoxified from alcohol and abusable drugs, and when they are ready and willing to start living independently while following certain rules and taking direction from their staff and affiliates.

Bonfire Recovery Services helps their residents to put their sobriety first by providing regular breathalyzing/urinalysis drug testing.

They provide an enthusiastic recovery community and inspiring atmosphere in which men can, and do, find entirely new perspectives. Appointed floor leaders conduct regular floor meetings to keep all heads looking forward, while their compassionate staff members make sure to leave no man behind.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs provide continuing care for clients in an advanced phase of recovery, including those who have completed detox and intensive inpatient treatment. These clients typically have already engaged in many hours of addiction counseling and recovery education. Drug rehab aftercare supports clients in maintaining their sobriety at home, in the workplace, and in the community. Case managers and care teams advise clients on the resources they may need to promote their sustained sobriety.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
If you need short-term intensive rehabilitation care that allows you to return home at the end of the day, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is the ideal solution. PHP provides structured programming that typically includes therapeutic services, relapse prevention, and medication management. Typically, treatment can run between 3-5 days a week for an average of 90 days. The cost for a partial hospitalization program can vary, but is often covered by providers.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The aim of a medically supervised detox is to minimize withdrawal symptoms while removing alcohol and drugs from your system under 24/7 medical supervision and keep you as safe and as comfortable as possible. Medical detox is usually the first step in the recovery process as a whole, and it can take about 5-7 days to complete. This process is usually at least partially covered by most insurance plans.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Treatment provided at drug rehab in New Hampshire prepares individuals to handle life stressors without using substances. Participants get the tools and support they need to maintain lifelong recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in New Hampshire involves several steps to healing. The therapist will first help you identify stressful conditions currently in your life. You'll then identify your thoughts and beliefs about these challenges. Next, you'll identify inaccurate thoughts, and lastly you'll change those thought patterns, which will lead to changed behavior.

Dialectical behavior therapy is a form of talk therapy. While it's similar to cognitive behavioral therapy, it adds a focus on intense emotions. Its goal is to help you learn to manage difficult feelings and make positive changes.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

The goal of trauma therapy is to address the lingering emotional and physical effects that traumatic experiences can have on your life. Therapists help you to process the traumatic event so you can more easily manage your physical and emotional responses and develop compassion for yourself.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

As Registered Nurse and a spouse of someone who recently completed this program, I am sorry, but I cannot recommend Bonfire. The staff I interacted with were extremely unprofessional and inexperienced!!!! Communication between the clinical staff and family members was severely lacking!!! Little to no education was provided to the client, no we're options for follow-up care!!!My husband's insurance company was charged for therapy sessions, 1:1, that never even occurred! The completion certificate listed treatment programs fraudulently, that my husband was not even aware of, or participate in!I hope they lose their license to operate!!!Sincerely,Sandra Forissi, RN

This place was not what I expected. Stairs strait up middle 4 flights and 2 couches for roughly 20 men. No room I saw or was in looked as cushy as what is here. The kitchen was the only thing I seen like pics. Front door is no double big glass pain. More like cell door. I left, and came back to get stuff I left and they had taken $40 worth of new toiletress and snacks I brought and that just solidified I made right choice to leave. If your not a parolee with a ankle monitor or never been to prison this isnt yohr place. Dlnt get me wrong people were ok. Just I didnt identify or fit in. I.e tats all over and ankle electronics. And everyone was ok with numerous sleeping people at group.
