I was here for about a week, two days out of the week I slept in the day room with two chairs connected because they were over patients the first day I slept in a quiet room with a mattress on the floor with no one thin blanket. The staff don t care about anyones triggers and treat their non favorites like dogs! There s this one specific tec I came across named Patty, she shooted me away as I was telling her she was putting my belongings into another soriayas belongings, she also told me my scars would be very ugly later on. When I asked for clothing they would tell me when I have to chance to when they would literally be at the nurses desk talking to the other techs, I finally got clothes around 6,7pm at night! (I had been asking since 7am in the morning) the only good people I had came across was probably a therapist (was not my therapist) named Alex and transportation people also named Alex ( he bought me an iPhone charger because the nurses didn t charge my phone like I had asked them to to get in contact with my grandpa to see if he was home or not) There was also another tech named Brenda who was insanely rude and would not let me get water not the mention their The phlebotomist also left me pretty bruised (these pics were taken 3-4 days after they took blood so not as bad as before) please consider about taking your kids here!

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Often known as "day treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers short-term, intensive rehab during the day, allowing you to return home in the evening. PHP treatment is often part of a step-down service provided in the treatment of substance use disorders. PHP treatment provides structured programming that includes daily therapeutic services. Typically, PHP treatment sessions are 5 days a week for approximately 6-8 hours, offering intensive treatment during the day, allowing you to return home. The duration of PHP treatment varies based on your needs but averages 90 days.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Each drug rehab in New Mexico offers unique amenities and treatment methods. Common aspects of treatment include group and individual counseling, recreational therapy, medication management, and healthy living. Aftercare is often provided to prevent relapse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Definitely would ve given this place another star but the woman named Cynthia who met me in the lobby treated me horribly. Upon my arrival I was on the phone with my spouse and she told me you need to get off the phone, turn it off, and give it to me right now in a very snarky manner. When I asked why she raised her voice and said, because that s the rules! I didn t put you here! You did that to yourself! Her behavior made an already scary situation even more frightening. Most of the staff at the 1/2 South building were very caring and helpful, especially nurse Joseph, techs Shannon, Danny, Richard, and Jose, and therapists Gabe and Penelope!

Was hopeful to finally receive help for my son's behavior because there is absolutely no other options nearby. After a year of contemplating sending him here I decided to give it a try. Initially things went well. 24 hours in I received a call asking permission for an antibiotic to be given. My son has never had one before and they wanted to give it to him for a viral illness I was aware he was getting over without getting him properly assessed by a doctor to confirm any bacterial infection. When I refused I was told "uh that's kind of neglect". I found that extremely unprofessional and inappropriate. I was unable to refuse the antibiotic. My son told me he threw it up and I was not notified about him vomiting but was notified about any other physical things like him hitting his head. Communication started to fade off after 3 days. His discharge day came and no one called me to discuss a safety plan for at home or how to handle his behaviors once I pick him up. I was very disappointed. His behaviors started pretty immediately at home and I just felt hopeless like we just wasted a lot of time sending him here. He had fun, made friends, and couldn't tell me anything he learned related to his behaviors or how he could work on them. Seems like they just babysat him and sent him back in the same condition. I was also really disappointed about the medication they put him on. They used the generic brand name to trick me. Saying it had no side effects that it was a light medication not a psych med that it was just for sleep. But I eventually found out it was Seroquel. If you know anything about Seroquel you'll know it is very much a psych med with a slew of possible side effects. I feel my rights as a parent to refuse meds were violated, I was threatened by staff, and I didn't receive the help I was looking for. I picked up my son and never heard from them again. No safety plan, no proof of him learning anything new, and no change in behavior. His paperwork wasn't even discussed with me or filled out well. It just said his plan was to "behave". As someone who has worked in behavioral health I can tell they were just lazily filling it out. They made no attempt to ask him the steps he was going to take to "behave". Would not recommend.

Note my experience is specifically for the south unit. This was the absolute worst experience of my entire life. The majority of the staff do not care whatsoever about patient care. They lure you in with false promises of therapy, group therapy, and a variety of other mental health group activities and learning sessions. These are lies, as there is no one there to ever run any of these programs because they are always too busy with too many patients. Well, if patients are coming here for help, and you can t provide that help due to constantly checking people in and out and being overwhelmed with that task, what s the point of even going there? There was absolutely no treatment provided other than them medicating and sedating everyone. This place is not educated about trauma informed care or proper bedside manner. Multiple staff even agreed with me that this place is a mess. DO NOT GO HERE! Go anywhere else!
