Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
General Outpatient (GOP) in New Jersey is offered at Crossroads Recovery as a general outpatient program for adults for 1 to 3 hours a week. So if you are ready to overcome your addiction but don’t want to disrupt your entire life by putting yourself in an inpatient alcohol or drug rehab program, the outpatient recovery services they offer at Crossroads in New Jersey are an excellent option.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients often enter inpatient rehab following detox, but they may also enroll during early recovery or at an increased risk of relapse. Inpatient rehabs provide housing, meals, and intensive clinical supervision, allowing clients to focus exclusively on their recovery in a highly structured and supportive environment. Clients typically receive multiple individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions weekly. Many programs also offer extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training. Integrative inpatient rehabs provide holistic therapies as well.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs for New Jersey adults are offered locally at Behavioral Crossroads Recovery for 10 hours a week. If you’re serious about getting your life straightened out and getting your body and mind free from intoxicants, contact Crossroads and let them discuss with you a successful plan to regain your sobriety.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients in a rehab aftercare program have typically completed detox and intensive inpatient and are medically stable. These programs are designed to address addiction recovery as a life-long process. Outpatient counseling and recovery education are typically categorized as drug rehab aftercare, but many clients continue to receive support after being discharged from formal outpatient treatment. Case managers and recovery teams facilitate clients' access to peer coaching, career counseling, 12 step program induction, and related services.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
A sober living home in New Jersey is for individuals who are recovering from alcohol and drug addiction issues. This type of halfway house residence is focused on helping individuals learn and apply the tools of recovery. The setting provides fellowship, support, and structure to prevent relapse. The homes are typically designed for either men or women, but some may offer space for women with their children.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term, intensive outpatient option designed for those with moderate to severe addictions who don't require 24-hour care. PHP treatment is often fully covered by insurance and provides structured programming (i.e. individual and group therapy). A typical partial hospitalization program can meet 3-5 days a week for a minimum of 20 hours, offering intensive treatment during the day while allowing you to return home after. PHP treatment duration can vary based on your progress but averages 90 days.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Medical detox is common for those who are going through drug rehabilitation. At a medical detox facility, the staff is trained to help patients deal with their withdrawal symptoms of quitting drugs or alcohol. Detox is only the first step toward recovery. Afterwards, you will need to immediately enroll in either an inpatient or outpatient treatment program. They provide a safe and comforting place for you to recover while you receive the support and attention you deserve from qualified medical professionals. Their Ambulatory Detox is open daytime only. It is ASAM Level I D/II D or WM 1/WM2 (Depending on DSM VI or V) and is exclusively Alcohol (3-5 day) & Opiates (5-9) day only.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in New Jersey is the process of addressing the complex issues involved with addiction. Challenges are identified and addressed through individual and group counseling. Participants learn how to manage these issues without the use of substances.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational interviewing helps clients find their motivation to change. It can be an effective method to work with clients who are angry or hostile or feel insecure about their ability to make changes in their lives. It is often used during addiction treatment or to manage physical health conditions.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Most experts in couples therapy are trained in several modes of treatment. This allows your therapist to draw from various techniques to personalize your therapy for your needs. This may include cognitive, emotional, and behavioral methods, which are all designed to help you strengthen your relationship.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Let me first start by saying that Crossroads is a nice program but it does have some negatives i hate about it. Here are my Pros and Cons based on my experience i had when i was a Crossroads member from December 22nd 2009 - October 19th, 2011Pros:1) Most of the Case Managers/Counselors and staff were pretty nice and friendly.2) They have a gym where clients can go play certain types of sports3) Sometimes they give clients a special luncheon if they do well with their treatment plan or do well in general there.4) Most of the Case Managers/Counselors there are females who are young which for me i much prefer having only females as my Case Manager/Counselor especially since am generally far more comfortable/relaxed around females in general than i am around males. Also a few of the female Case Managers/Case managers i met there are pretty attractive.5) Sometimes they have small parties on occasion' "for example' they had a Halloween party in 2010 and they had a costume contest where i won 1st place.6) Once in a while they do talent shows where clients can show their talent7) My favorite Case Managers/Counselors that i had there were Margo, Meg, and Natalie.Cons1) The Transportation that they provide sucks which the Van ride gets uncomfortable when there're too many clients on board and when some of the client's clothes smells like cigarette smoke.2) Most of the Case Managers/Counselors don't legitimately care about they clients for real and just really cares about earning paychecks.3) Some of the clients (especially that long red haired fat woman named Amanda and that spiky haired old man name Jimmy) whom i encountered gave me some problems.4) There was this pretty attractive and athletic build female Case Manager/Counselor named Gloria who told me to go to the director's office because out of anger i slammed my orange seat cushion on the table. Also Gloria is pretty intimidating where she seems to take everything too seriously.5) Most of the clients there are either middle aged or old which is unfortunate for the young folks who attends Crossroads.6) It seems that most of the clients there are smokers which is why i usually do not go outside in the backyard since some of the clients there who smokes goes out in the backyard and smokes during breaks.7) My least favorite Case Manager/Counselor that i had there was Kim (The Asian Woman) which she was my first ever Case Manager/Counselor that i had at Crossroads and she sucked.8) I dislike sitting in groups almost all day long hearing about other clients problems and miseries which i usually dislike group conversations.9) I don't get enough 1 on 1 time with my Case Managers/Counselors that i worked with.10) When some clients does something that's against the rules every client gets punished by taking away some privileges.11) I hate having to switch cases managers/counselors after case managers/counselors and retell my life story each time one leaves the job.12) The so called gym (The gym looks like a warehouse) that they have there is not that clean and some or most of the equipment are damaged obviously by some of the clients13) I quit Crossroads since Crossroads only gave the female Van Driver a warning after she said something bad too me in the Van and since she wasn't fired and i didn't get my justice' i quit the program even though i eventually got tired of going there anyways.I'm done with Mental Health Programs/Partial Care Programs entirely. If you decide to go to that program do your research to see if that program is right for you. Also when you're starting out your first day or first week at Crossroads i highly recommend to not let them assign a Case Manager/Counselor for you because you might end up having a Case Manager/Counselor you may not like to even work with so it's best to request them in advance who do you want to have as your Case Manager/counselor to work with.

This place is a big jokeAfter months the owner responded to my review just goes to show the don t care about their patients they sure didn t care about me and won t let me come back to finish my program witch is crazy to me because I m going for thc but my sister currently goes to the your program and goes and gets high on her lunch break with all the patients all you guys care about is money you don t care about us and our recovery and your workers should be working harder than us because we are the ones who need help and you guys are getting paid to do just that

Response from the owner4 years ago
Xiomara, Group therapy, counseling and recovery are hard work. Our counselors hope to meet our clients where they are and guide them in the process. Our program supports recovery. It allows individuals that buy into the concepts, grow in their treatment and progress into recovery. You only get what you put into this process. It doesn t work if our therapists work harder than our clients. Recovery doesn t happen over night and is not the same for everyone. We hope you have a successful recovery and are available if you want to discuss anything. Best Regards, Behavioral Crossroads

The residents are good ppl and share good Information on how to deal with addiction & etc. But however, the staff don t take residents serious, they brush you off and don t pay attention to your needs what so ever

PopOff, Your concerns are troubling to me. We have policies and procedures in place to address this. Our counselors support and guide our clientele the best they can, but there may be a reason or order to things. Please contact my office to address your concerns while they are happening. Call me at 609.645.2500;138 and we ll discuss this and contact the appropriate staff and supervisors. Thank you for your feedback. We have some work to do together. Sincerely, Michael DiMarco
