The only program of its kind in the State, Beacon House draws women in crisis from nine Counties (Fond du Lac, Dodge, Washington, Winnebago, Waukesha, Kewaunee, Clark, Jefferson, Calumet Counties) and two Native American Tribes. Beacon House, a 4 – level 12- bed Victorian home with attached clinic at 166 South Park Avenue, provides a transitional living experience for women with addiction, moving them from the cycle of dependency to an addiction free life of wholesome living. The average length of stay is 90 – 120 days.

The first 60 days focus on rebuilding life and healthy habits, the last 30 – 60 transitions them to living happy life, free from pain and dependence. In that time, each woman is monitored closely. Recovery comes through the continued development of the “whole woman.” By bringing her mental, social, physical, emotional and spiritual capabilities into focus, Beacon staff helps develop healthy attitudes and lifestyles. At the core of this inner awakening is The Twelve Step program, a set of guiding principles outlining a course of action for recovery, was originally proposed by Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) in 1939.

This place saved my life. I was a selfish and disrespectful alcoholic. After going through their program, I learned how to live with other personalities and now take things so personally. I'm a responsible member of society and live a fulfilling life currently. If you want to learn how to change your ways and be happy and grateful and sober, this is the place for you! I'm forever in debt to Beacon House!

Idk what everyone is talking about with these bad reviews. The time j sornt at Beacon was well needed and money well spent. I learned about myself things that no other treatment place has allowed me to discover. Mary Beth, or Momma Beth, was an absolute delight to have around as a motherly figure. Along with the other staff members, Mrs. Jackie, Mrs. Estelle, and Mrs. Tracy were such godsends and im lucky to have ever been allowed to be apart of the wonderful experience and assistance to my recovery that the Beacon House offered me. Thank you all SOOO much!

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab is designed to stabilize clients who are exiting detox or those who are in some form of crisis. They are an important preliminary step designed to prepare clients for outpatient, sober living, or community-based care. Clients live at the treatment center and engage in intensive addiction counseling. Group and family therapy is common. Many programs also emphasize recovery-focused life skills training to support clients' sustained sobriety. Some programs offer evidence-based holistic therapies, such as meditation.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

The goal of drug rehab in Wisconsin is to address drug addiction as a complex issue that involves physical, mental, and relational aspects. During rehab, treatment focuses on each of these areas and gives you the tools you need to achieve and maintain sobriety.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

During couples therapy, you will engage in activities that promote forgiveness, healthy communication, and understanding. You'll receive "homework" to practice these skills during the week between sessions. Couples therapy typically lasts around 12 weeks.

Recreational therapy in Wisconsin helps you find purpose in healthy activities that take the place of substance use in your life. These activities can include group games, gardening, yoga, and creative arts. The goal is to improve your physical fitness and mental health while providing an emotional outlet, factors that help you rebuild your life and maintain sobriety.

Beacon House is not what they say they are in their web page or reviews, they only care for the money they earn. The patients are not their principal concern as it should be in any place of this kind.

Hi my name is Sabriana & I am an addict. I got arrested June 14th 2019 and went to Beacon June 27th 2019. I have been clean since. The peers I was surrounded with are ones I will never forget. We all leaned on each other and were there for one another no matter what. We stay in contact even to this day. My counselor was Julie W & she is the most real blunt and loving person. I was definitely frightened of her at first because I took everything as a joke and thought I could do it on my own. But with long honest brutal talks she helped me thru those dark times and I finally gave it a chance. I ve seen a lot of the comments talking rudely about her and it breaks my heart because she has become some a great friend of mine outside in the recovery community. Overall I highly recommend Beacon!

Please don t go here or send ANYONE here unless you want to be demeaned and treated like a non-entity. They re only concerned about the money and keeping the house clean. Julie would put people down to the point of making them cry. She smiled as she did this. Most inept counselors ever. I got absolutely nothing out of their so-called treatment . Only after I left and lived in a women s sober living house did I reach my potential. Beacon House is basically an adult baby sitting service. Except you re treated like a prisoner. Wish I could give zero stars.

I stayed at the beacon house back in 2021! My experience was great, I love the structure, the group meetings, working the steps, and focusing on myself and my recovery. I'm so glad to have gotten the opportunity to stay here for treatment. The staff is all amazing as well. Just hit 2 years clean and sober.

This is the worst treatment facility I have ever experienced. The staff is completely inadequate to run a rehab facility They only care about admissions and money and will lie to your face just to tell you what you want to hear to get you in the door. Then they will completely rip your sense of self worth apart until you believe it. Their methods of therapy are outdated and expired. The only decent staff are Estelle, Deb, Wendy, Ellen, Bobby Jo and Jackie. Unfortunately they aren't the ones running the program. The counselors who run the program are more concerned about house rules and consequences then any kind of rehabilitation. The 32 days I was there there were only 3 groups that actually focused on treatment. The rest were about not taking coffee outside and the number of people in the kitchen. Do yourself a favor and skip this absolute mockery of a "rehab".

I was at Beacon house for 5 weeks I am an African American mixed with native American, my stay was hard,. I loved my fellow house mates but the counselor s were racist.. namely Julie.. when she came in I was bullied, also Marybeth who was also the same way... I was discharged they said because they couldn't keep up with my med schedule they claim which was Tylenol every 6 hours... they are racist and unfair Julie said racist things to me that were swept under the rug and Mary Beth was allowed to treat me very badly.... supposedly because she and the staff did this formy own good....
