God Bless Eamonn, the owner, he does his best to help a growing demographic of men who have drug and alcohol addictions. The clientele there are good people just trying to recover and get their lives back together. There's more structure than some houses-and less structure than others. It's all what you put into it, and many men have had full and complete recoveries, and lasting sobriety by finding/staying at the Association for Sober Living in North Attleboro. Great comradery and opportunity to develop new friendships here-with other men who are struggling also. If you put in the time and effort, you too can discover a new way of living CLEAN and SOBER. Definitely consider the ASL if you want to live a life without drugs and alcohol, and find healing, hope, and sobriety for your future, yourself, and for your family-by the Grace of God.

This house has saved my life. Everyone that says this place is no good just didn't go by the rules or the program. I'm very happy with the success I've had in my recovery because of this house. I can not say enough of how this place has saved my life. If you really want to get clean I'd strongly suggest the A.S.L.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Addiction is a highly complex problem, and drug rehab in Massachusetts is often necessary to address it. These programs treat physical, mental, and relational issues that are involved. Treatment empowers individuals to manage these issues without the use of drugs.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Greetings to all who read this message. My name is stephen and I am a 32 year old male in recovery. I spent some time in jail and upon release I needed somewhere to go. The only available place for me was a little spot in the town of north attleboro. By the grace of God I was brought in by a great man I've had the pleasure to get to know on a personal level. Being in recovery him self, has given me tools and advice to use for my self in my recovery. If I'm being honest the list is too long to note here on all the positive things I've been able to take away from the ASL. Any one in the area who needs some good recovery and good guidance, I highly recommend giving Eamonn a call. He is firm and fair but most of all he cares for each individual who passes through the house . I've witnessed it first hand. You will be encouraged to get a job and get a sponsor and start working a program which has in my opinion saved my life from drug and alcohol use. There are three houses that make up the ASL two on north Washington Street and one up on high street. The houses are clean and have everything anyone could need. If something is out of order in the house it is put to order promptly. Again I have witnessed this all first hand. The ASL is a great spot for people in recovery to make a fresh start and piece there lives back together one step at a time. Life is what you make it, and if your in need of some help with your addiction and alcohol problems I wouldn't hesitate to give this establishment a call. I have found peace and serenity here, I am now a year sober with a steady job and working through my legal woes that will settle over time. But I credit my success to Eamonn the owner, the managers and the good people who reside there. Most of all to God who I believe put me there for a reason. To get clean and sober. With a little hard work put in like I have done my self we can make it! Have a blessed day all.

I can not begin to describe the mess the ASL is. If you re serious about your recovery then avoid this place at all costs. If you re a social drinker or drug addict then this is the place for you because you can still do it both inside and outside the home.

The Association for Sober Living is a sanctuary and haven for those seeking to recover from addiction and alcohol. This is a quality environment to grow and move forward with your recovery. The facilities and housing are superb and very clean. The houses are well maintained and the property is in excellent condition with modern amenities. The owner and managers are excellent and supportive of healthy sober living. Eamon and Bob are truly concerned with helping people regain their confidence and dignity in sobriety and provide a safe space to practice positive and uplifting lifestyles. They also provide an appropriate structure to keep people safe and protected. This community has saved my life and I know it can help you to find peace and sobriety.
