outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term intensive rehab option designed to provide treatment during the day and you're able to return home at night. PHP treatment offers structured programming, including individual and group therapy, typically meeting 3-5 days a week for 6-8 hours per day. PHP duration averages around 90 days, with some programs offering amenities like transportation and meals.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Quitting drugs and alcohol on your own can cause uncomfortable and even dangerous side effects caused by the withdrawal process. In medically assisted detox, a team of licensed medical professionals will monitor your health, provide medication for potential withdrawal symptoms, and work to keep you safe and comfortable. Most people transition to an inpatient program or a maintenance program that uses medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

nutritional-therapy iconNutritional Therapy

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

This place changed my life around and made me realize what being dependent on a substance in order to be "happy" is never the answer. So grateful!

I've been a patient for about 2 years now so I feel confident in my review.1. They do virtual appointments which is a lifesaver because I am a working professional with zero time to go to a doctors office once a month2. Nicole is awesome3. They call me all the time to remind my ADHD to schedule my follow-ups4. They work with you on billing / COBRA issues5. They often get me same week appointments when I forget to schedule and wind up out of my meds.

If you are seeking caring professionals , I would keep looking. They only care about collecting insurance payments with no concern for a clients well being or progress. I would strongly urge anyone looking at this provide to keep looking. Not one person at that faculty offers even a modicum of concern . It s quite sad.

I have been a loyal patient of theirs for years. During that time I have had at LEAST five therapist that have left the facility for whatever reason causing me to start over which only added to my anxiety. I recently had a tele appointment and was have difficulty with my phone. When I was finally able to get through, I was treated as if I had done something wrong. My prescriber typically only takes 5 minutes with me so I find it very disturbing that she wouldn t take the time to at least prescribe a temporary prescription. Very upsetting.

I have been a patient here for a couple years. The office is clean + welcoming. There is plenty of room for waiting. There is a giant table that is placed far from the front door where children can wait while their parent is in session. As a mother- this would be a huge plus for me if I ever had to take the kiddos with me.The children would be safe, & parents of babies could make/warm up bottles/wash hands in the kitchen that is off to the side. Restrooms are clean + stocked with soap, etc.The receptionist Anna is amazing; If there are any scheduling hiccups (that are honestly *always* the fault of my own), she will see to it that I never run out of medication or go long without seeing my therapist + doctor. The therapists do come + go, although this revolving-door situation is nothing personal of Aspen; I have been to *many* treatment facilities + mental-health clinics where this is a common problem. I haven't been to ANY where I have had the same therapist for more than 5months. Even my methadone clinic can't hold onto addiction councilors. This ranges from Baltimore City- Arbutus/Catonsville- Carroll County. Although this issue is detrimental to some patients, it has nothing to do with Aspen in the least. I recommend taking what you can from the therapist you have at any given time- maybe you were meant to meet many personalities to get the specific treatment needed for yourself.Dr. Milone is amazing! She is bright + such a positive person. I never felt uncomfortable sharing things with her because she has a very non-judgemental attitude. Any time I have needed an emergency appointment because I failed to schedule my monthly session on time (due to my ADHD + poor social skills, this has happened more than I care to admit), she has sent in my prescriptions before seeing me.I have been off of all illicit substances for almost 1 1/2 years! This is after I spent 25years as a heroin+cocaine addict. I am 37years old; this means that Aspen has helped someone who spent more of their life on drugs + suffering from mental illness(es) than not.I am slowly detoxing off of methadone. I have a part-time job that I just started in July. The staff at Aspen have been wonderful with accommodating me with convenient appointments, even though my work schedule is ever-changing.Also, any time that Dr. Milone has not been available -(when she has other patients to attend to & can't simply put them off for me, since everyone is equal!), I have been in touch with the head doctor- Dr. Lafferman- via a simple telephone call. I left a message on the emergency line & this man called me back within 5mins. He listened to the issue, filled my prescription, & was pleasant doing so. This happened to me twice (+ my partner once - he also started attending Aspen a year or so ago after seeing my improvement).I do not recommend Aspen if you are only there trying to get certain medications, or are not there to actually help yourself. Everyone will see this to be your reason for attending, & that is when you will start to have issues. Plus, it's not fair to take up space + energy that could go to another person who is in the grips of serious issues.I highly recommend Aspen if you are ready to change your life. NO facility will make that change FOR YOU- that is something YOU have to do for yourself. But the staff here will definitely show you how & teach you many things along the way. Help is here if you want it!This is an honest opinion from someone who has seen a more-than-average share of the inside of treatment facilities + mental-health clinics.I hope anyone reading this finds happiness & can one day soon hold their head up high.

I DO NOT recommend this place and I DO NOT recommend seeing Jessica Milone. The receptionists are nice and do their job. However, Jessica had over 3 weeks to fill out some paperwork. The paperwork had stated incorrect information about the patient AND it took more than 4 attempts to fill out the paperwork correctly. After the 4th attempt, Jessica said she didn t have any more time to fill it out and it would be forwarded to one of the directors (Christine). No care for the patient, no initiative to make things right, and things can not be done in a timely manner. They are supposed to help with mental health, not cause more damage!Do not waste your time and mental health.
