Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) support a client's sustained sobriety as they exit detox or step down from an inpatient program. IOPs are also designed for clients who are at an elevated risk of relapse. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in a minimum of nine hours of therapy per week, but clients may receive up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP treatment modalities often combine psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

nicotine iconNicotine Replacement Therapy

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

There is nothing to do in the ER unit but sleep, eat, read magazines that nurses had cut the “inappropriate” content out of, and do word searches. They put everyone in the ER unit no matter what you were there for, so I saw some of the more unstable people have episodes ... Read More

Denied access to see my wife who was taken in by ambulance. After stating it was illegal was still informed by almond that it be 10 minutes. Then was denied again. My wife who has a history to be denied to see her. Information shared in the front violating HIPAA.After finally let in after hours the doctor comes in and when I ask what he was doing. He couldn't name the treatment because he had 26 patients and said I quote 'I'm done talking to you" then walks off. Then the doctor goes to flip out and talk to all the other nurses outside her room after. He should be fired and let go. Unfit to be a doctor.

Complete lack of communication, trampeled on patients rights, half the staff has zero compassion, they all need more sensitivity training in Behavioral health except the bald dudes. Several of my expensive belongings turned up missing and they were of no help to recover guitar and backpack!

My father has been going to Arrowhead regional hospital for seven years, but they failed to diagnose his cancer until it was too late. They seemed more interested in asking about his house and income than caring for him as a patient. I repeatedly asked the doctors if my father had cancer, but they denied it until 2020, when he was finally diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. They convinced him that chemo would help, but it only made things worse and damaged his organs. During his last visit, his legs and feet were swollen, but the doctors incorrectly attributed it to lymphedema instead of his heart issue. This hospital has never been honest with me or our family. My father also got an infection from his port due to a nurse from oncology who did not clean the tube before inserting it into his chest. The doctors and a case manager (Christopher A. Trinidad )worked together to move my father to a rehabilitation center in Riverside, where he was neglected along with other patients. I cannot recommend this hospital as it cares more about money than its patients, as evident from the dirty hallways and restrooms.

It is sad how they play with your health. My sister needed an emergency referral and they were bouncing around the request and never did it. They wanted to keep the business in house so they never processed it.

I m not sure how my review was removed but my experience was so bad I had to put it back. I was a high risk pregnancy. One of my appointments the doctor couldn t explain my high BP so she sent me to Arrowhead to be monitored. The nurses were laughing and talking and every patient that came in there they would get irritated as if they were not at work. They monitored me for as long as they could tolerate. The equipment started to come off during my Braxton hocks contractions. They just said I m fine and sent me home. I went to my next high risk appointment a week later and they see the baby s heart is stopping. They send back to the hospital where the nurses seem irritated I m there. The doctor chose to admit me due to the baby s heart stopping and me starting to dilate. The nurse of all people questioned the doctor and asked why the doctor seemed slightly irritated and answered the nurse rolls her eyes and walks me to a room. They proceed to drug test me idk why. My first nurse was a Hispanic woman. She was terrible. She never offered me anything to eat. So I fell asleep exhausted woke up and asked her is there any way I could get some food she comes in with my tray slams it on the table and it s sweating and cold from sitting out you can tell. I tell her I have gestational diabetes and is this ok to eat. She barks at me saying that they are marked and the hospital is aware. She comes back to take my numbers and they are sky high. She accuses me of eating something else I told her I just ate what you gave me. Maybe it s the milk my doctor said milk can cause my sugar to go up. She responds with why did you drink it then. I m confused because you said this was an approved plate and I m hungry I ate everything. She walks out comes back hours later and I tell her my side hurts from laying in one position for so long and she says that I can t give you drugs I m like why are you saying that I ll take Tylenol. But I began to form a bruise from not moving as this was the only position keeping my baby heart beating. The doctor proceeds to drug test me 4 more times during this 4 day stay. I told the Hispanic nurse I think I m seeing things and she told me don t say anything or they will keep me. Stop saying your me hurt and you can leave. Doctors sounded concern with the baby s heart the nurses kept saying to lie and say I m fine. It had nothing to do with pain as to why I was there. My next nurse an older white woman called my baby dumb. And admitted they were talking about me at the nurses station. I broke down crying because majority of time I was alone on one side being ignored. My visual hallucinations got worst and I saw bugs crawling all over the bed the black nurse was the only one who did something and got me help. I was induced and my epidural was terrible. There was a crunch and a sharp pain that went through my neck. I literally still can feel the pain if I move the wrong way. I told the next nurse that I feel pain and pressure and she goes you shouldn t press the button for more medicine. I start to scream because I can feel everything now she grabs the doctor and says she was not like this a second ago. As if I m lying. The doctor looks and says I see the baby s head. They asked me to come to the bottom of the bed in the middle of a contraction and a baby s head hanging input my vagina. Once the baby was out I was more than happy to leave. I have never had such a terrible experience And it was so traumatic I was afraid to ever have a baby because I never want to experience anything like this again.
