My wife of 52 years passed a way in 2021. I began seeing a counselor after I had back surgery in 2022. About a year later I had to relocate to Lonoke County. I was experiencing complicated grief and depression and needed someone to listen to what I had to say instead of just telling me what to do.I started seeing Shannan at Arisa, several months ago. Shannan, who was young enough to be my granddaughter, had the ability to help me feel better after each session. Unfortunately, Shannan went to work at another clinic in Little Rock a few weeks ago. Her move seems like another loss and now I only hope I can see another counselor who will give me the attention that Shannan did.My experience with Shannan at Arisa was very positive. I m hoping to find another counselor who can continue helping me with my grief and depression the way she did.

Wow, I have been to VA's all across the country, and I'll have to admit I was a bit skeptical coming to VA North Little Rock. However, my experience here far exceeded my experiences of ANY VA I have been to and I was treated SO great! Nurse Connie was the sweetest Nurse I have ever had! She was amazing and she was able to calm my anxiety. My primary care Dr., Mr Spears was wonderful as well. I can't express the gratitude I have for how everyone treated me. I completed the 28 day program twice and spent over 90 days total. At first I didn't like it. They were strict and it was kinda of a tough love thing, I'm sure of that. But, I appreciated that tough love, structure, and accountability, because that is what I needed at the time. After I finished the 28 they found me a job that I really enjoyed and provided transportation to and from work .At the N.A. , C.A. and alumni meetings , I came to realize that the people here really do care about me, you, and each other. They want nothing more than to see everyone succeed. They are truly one big family!

I was in a dark place when I sought counseling at PCA. They helped me when I had no job or insurance. The saw my need and put me with someone immediately. This isn't the most modern office building in NLR, but these people care; not just docs but the office staff as well. Best place I've gone in my 28 years. I believe it is a great program for those of us whom suffer from any form of mental illness and even better for those whom don't suffer from mental illness, but may have a friend/family whom does suffer from some sort of mental illness. It would be an even better program if they had a program at Pinnacle House that has something like that for loved ones whether it be friends/family and educated them with the stuff they educate us that do have a mental illness. That's the only reason I have 4 stars. If they had that sort of program or offered that sort of educational classes to beyond us with mental illness, but rather folks whom don't have a mental illness, but have a loved one who does! If they offered that, they'd get 5 stars from me!
