About Anuvia Prevention & Recovery Center

At the Anuvia Prevention and Recovery Center, the focus is on you, the client. Addiction recovery along with mental health services are offered in an outpatient setting in their Charlotte, North Carolina office. They accept private insurance and Medicaid and offer sliding scale payment plans based on your income.

The staff providing care wants to get to know you because they truly care about you. I like that they offer a complete continuum of outpatient care for adolescents and adults, including intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and general outpatient programs

They also prioritize addiction prevention, crisis intervention, and patient stabilization. Their youth prevention programs include teaching children of all ages to develop skills to ;earn how to resist alcohol and other drugs.

Your customized treatment plan will include a medical and mental health assessment. If you need higher intensity treatment, you might be referred to their inpatient detox and residential rehab center. This is extremely important because detoxing from alcohol and other drugs can be dangerous without the appropriate medical supervision.

They’re a 12 Step focused program that encourages you to build a strong network of peer support to guide you in your recovery long term. You’ll develop important life skills to show you how to manage stress, deal with past trauma, and cope with addiction triggers.

Another thing that stands out to me is that they have a robust aftercare program. You can continue to engage in recovery education, peer coaching, and addiction counseling for as long as you need to.

Clients have positive things to say about the program. Many credit Anuvia with pulling them through the darkest moments in their lives.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient Rehab

Clients receiving treatment at an inpatient rehab facility are typically in early recovery or are at heightened risk of relapse. Clients in inpatient care remain at the facility for the duration of their program, enabling them to focus solely on their recovery. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive psychotherapy, often including group and family counseling as well as one-on-one sessions. Recovery-focused life skills education is another common service. Many rehabs also offer evidence-based holistic therapies.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs offer a complete continuum of care for clients in the maintenance phase of recovery and are predicated on the idea that addiction disease is a chronic condition prone to relapse and warranting continuing care. Clients collaborate with their care team and case manager to access the specific rehab aftercare services they need to promote their sustained sobriety. Peer coaching, relapse prevention services, career counseling, and 12 step program induction are common in these programs.

12-Ste

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Often used as a "step-down" option after you've completed a residential or inpatient program, the partial hospitalization program (PHP) typically involves a minimum of 20 hours of treatment per week for approximately 90 days. Programs offer structured programming that includes relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services. Insurance coverage for PHP treatment varies among insurance providers.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

There are many types of drug rehab in North Carolina. To receive treatment for addiction, you can choose from many inpatient and outpatient programs. Often, participants start with detox and work through a full continuum of care that continues with ongoing support for long-term recovery.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. When I came to Anuvia last year it was the beginning of a journey to better self care. The information that I was reintroduced to in the SACOT classes allowed me to first look at myself, secondly to see where that information applied to me, and thirdly, to make the necessary changes in my way of thinking and my life. I feel that I am better equipped to had the stressors that come up in everyone's life without turning to a substance as being an answer.I graduate this week feeling emotionally, mentally, a definitely spiritually prepare to continue to live successfully.

Worst experience ever. Spent all my money to get there just to be turned away because they were afraid I would withdrawal from benzos even though I told them I had just used them to detox from alcohol. Left me stranded 30 mi from home.
