If they had a - star I would picked it. They say they are a crisis center. I have been trying to get my daughter's meds for 4 months. They told me I would have to have her arrested since she wouldn't concent. She is bipolar and schizophrenic. Well she spent 3 months in jail got a felony for something she didn't do and still has no meds. We are back square one. Sad excuse for a mental health clinic!

Don t bother. Spent an hour of my life (that I cannot get back!!) on the registration/evaluation process. Just moved to the area and needed medication management/adjustment and therapy. First of all, a walk-in evaluation process just seems silly. Filled out paperwork and then was asked questions during the registration process that were already answered and said paperwork. Was then evaluated via video call for all of two minutes. I was basically told during the evaluation that my problems are not severe enough and that I should wait for an appointment with the GP I m establishing with in 1.5 months. Was also told that I should just get my prescription vitamin over-the-counter at Walmart. Shocker, they don t have it. Absolutely worthless.

I came here as a transfer from another county. This agency denied my request to re-apply for patient assistance from Eli Lily. I was told I absolutely had to use their program, which I am unable to do at this time as they are requiring tax info that I haven't been able to complete due to the issues for which I came to get help! I'm barely able to complete simple activities of daily life and soon I will be out of my medication. I've already told my case worker that suddenly stopping this medicine causes me severe suicidal ideation, but it doesn't matter. They'd rather see a patient commit suicide than to work with them.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Together with an experienced trauma therapist, you work on healing emotional wounds from traumatic experiences within a trauma therapy environment. Your therapist will help you process the experience of the trauma, which promotes emotional healing and improves your overall mental health.

I went to them for help with my issues. The first thing I asked before making an appointment was if they would help me with ADA paperwork. The front said yes but now Pam Summers is saying they are no longer going to fill out the paperwork to help me. They just want to throw medication at you. The last time I took what they gave me it had me bedridden for a month. Is it coincidence that as soon as I stop taking medication from them they are suddenly not going to help me with paperwork any more? Because they did try to fill it out but my job needed more inf. Which apparently is too much work. If they can t even fax 1 piece of paper how can we expect them to have our best interests when they prescribe rx?

Dr Furlong and his staff have helped me for more than 30 years. Dr Furlong is one of the most dedicated and kind as well as professional doctor I have ever met. Will continue to see him as long as I can reach him. Superior service!

They just throw pills at you after only speaking with you for ten minutes, and will change up your medications without even caring about the repercussions to your physical and mental health.

I have been seeing Dr Furlong for years and he is wonderful. My 16 year old Son also sees him. His latest 'case manager' FAITH, is terrible. She is absolutely the rudest person I have ever come across. She has NO business working with children. She yelled at me over the phone as well as in person. She obviously has serious issues. If you send your child here, I strongly recommend you ask to not have her as a case manager. There are other ones who are actually decent people.

The only bad thing about the Andrew center is that doctor Furlong takes forever, but the good thing about it is that the reason he takes forever as because he takes time with his patients in the back. He likes to sit and actually understand what you're going through and get everything right? I've been with them since I was 13 years old and I'm 41 now, these people are amazing.

My opinion bc of my experience from this clinic. I was not given proscriptions for a medical problem I have and had to go to the emergency room on 3 different occasions. These people do not return your calls! I ve been on same meds for pTSD for 15 years and suddenly Dr Furlong wants to stop them and in my opinion it s horrible! I m so happy to know that God sees everything and everyone s actions! . Do not entrust your care to this facility. Before Covid , do you know how many times I saw this Dr? 0 times! Never met him! Buses and plan coordinator always saw me? To this day I wouldn t know furlong if I met him on the street! Way to go furlong Had to give 1 star bc couldn t rate on site a 0! I think I need to make a complaint to Texas Medical Board??!! My opinion places like this need to be out of business! Sorry but true.

Pitiful representation of an already failing system. 4 hours in person to get funding and an appointment for intake 3 weeks out! Then another 3 week wait to speak with a practitioner! As if it wasn't hard enough to ask for help. After admitting to numerous staff members feelings of hopelessness and self harm we have to wait 6 weeks for help. They don't deserve the one star required to post a review. It's no surprise the state of mental health issues and addiction that are prevalent in Henderson county if this is the best the county has to offer.

(2 years ago)I've been threw over 7 case workers the past 2 years didn't see 90 precent of them they quit before my appointments. There was a solid year I didn't see a doctor because they kept quiting. And as of now Ive been waiting 1 hour to see the doc when I had an 8:30am appointment the earliest and first one of the day... I've been going hear for 10 years and it's the worst place but I have no where else to go.(5/7/21) They seemed to have gotten there act together more or less a good case worker really make a difference you need to make sure you have a good one because as great as great my new doctor is he's very busy and the nurse don't like to bother him when he's with patients he's so booked. Timothy James Furlong, MD is a great doctor that cares and listens and try's his best to get you well and even has back up plans, and makes sure that you get an appointment with a nurse to see how you are doing. He's very busy but does his best to see to all his patients needs and if you have a good case worker like I have to help you in the prosses if you ever feel like you have been put on a back burner or questions and problems aren't being answered in a timely manner talk with your case worker about it and they will do there best and make sure you are being taken care of and getting proper info and treatment.
