Accepted Insurance

AMS of Delaware, LLC works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare. We offers a flexible, multi-level Outpatient Program for patients who are seeking effective treatment for addictions. Their state licensed Outpatient Program is designed for patients who do not require or who have completed Detoxification, Residential Treatment or Day Treatment.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehabs offer the structure and support that clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those in crisis often need. They provide housing and meals, enable clients to escape home and workplace stressors and focus solely on recovery. Clients engage in intensive psychotherapy, which may include group and family counseling. Inpatient treatment is also designed to prepare clients for outpatient care, which typically involves recovery-focused life skills training. Holistic therapies are widely available.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving services in a rehab aftercare program have typically completed detox or an inpatient treatment program. Aftercare programs provide customized, wraparound care to support recovery as a life-long process. Case managers, the recovery care team, and the client work together to identify and access services the client needs in order to support sustained sobriety.
12-step icon12-Step
The 12 step program model has become standard in addiction recovery programs around the country. It combines peer coaching with spiritual development to address the root causes of addiction while providing those in recovery with robust, judgment-free support. Participants self-select a sponsor to guide them through their recovery journey, engage in regular group meetings, and "work the steps" to achieve healing emotional, psychological, and spiritual growth. Though 12 step recovery is spiritually-focused, religious affiliation is not required.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
It's appropriate to organize a drug intervention in Delaware when a person cannot stop using drugs or alcohol or when their substance abuse is causing physical harm. Intervention services can provide a professional who helps the individual understand the damage they are doing to themselves and their loved ones. This expert can explain how treatment works from the clinical perspective and help the individual see how rehab could be beneficial.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Recovery is possible for those who complete drug rehab in Delaware. These programs specialize in providing an environment that encourages sobriety and a professional staff that provides the tools to overcome addiction. Participants receive a customized treatment plan tailored to their needs.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

When used in treatment sessions, cognitive behavioral therapy in Delaware has been shown to be an effective method to address a variety of mental health disorders, including substance use disorders. An advantage of this method is its ability to also address any co occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

Therapists who apply dialectical behavior therapy methods help their clients understand and accept their emotions and behaviors while also seeking to change negative behaviors. This form of treatment occurs in weekly individual and group sessions and typically lasts six to 12 months.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational interviewing is designed to strengthen your internal motivation to change. It's a method of communication that focuses on change, allowing you to reflect on your current circumstances and draw your own conclusions about the next steps you need to take.

The focus of trauma therapy in Delaware is on healing your emotional wounds from traumatic events you have experienced. Your therapist guides you through the process of confronting these memories and integrating them, which improves your emotional resilience and your mental well being.

Couples therapy typically involves five strategies. The therapist will get to know you, help you both identify your feelings, explore the past, find solutions to relationship issues, and teach you skills to deal with issues now and in the future.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

I ve been told that this program is now only accepting Medicaid and Medicare. So that means if you get on this program, you cannot get a job. There is no bettering yourself on this program. They don t accept any personal insurance at all. What kind of message is that sending? If you don t have Medicaid or Medicare, you have to have cash for them just like the dope man. These days Drugs are getting cheaper and cheaper so what do you think is going to happen to all the clients that have personal insurance? They will be kicked off and forced to go in use and possibly overdose. This has to be a violation of the code of ethics which you have to be in line with to be licensed by the state of Delaware to dispense methadone. I got on this program and got a job. Got a house got a car and now Medicaid won t accept me because I make too much by $97 and now I m gonna be forced to put myself in danger at losing my life to drug Or lose everything I have gained in recovery. This is insane I have never heard of a program that won t accept insurance unless it s Medicaid or Medicare. Especially when they have already accepted it and now they re deciding six months down the road that they don t want to. Sounds awful fishy to me.

Love my counselor and the staff at the front desk they remember who you are and don t make you feel ashamed for your addiction. Heather in particular is so sweet she gives out stars and praises for those who do iop. Things have really changed here as I have been here several different times over the years. Jon b who runs iop is amazing and makes it enjoyable. I literally went an hour out of my way at one point past multiple MATs to come here instead. You don t have to worry about loitering people outside and long lines. And it s also discrete.

This place has saved my life. My counselor Jamie has taught me so much about myself that has helped me be the best version of myself.. before her I had the worst anxiety driving, she worked with me thru it for months & didn t give up on me, I have her to thank for getting over my driving anxiety. she has helped me with my communication skills & how to have confidence. Jamie has always made me feel so comfortable, giving no judgement in what I have to say. She is so amazingly smart when it comes to how the brain works, I actuallyenjoy and look forward to my sessions. I could not imagine my life without my counselor jamie. she has no idea how much she has helped me. I cherish my relationship with her. if you are looking for a great counselor- ask for jamie! The nurses are also great, i love kerry. she has helped me so much with my tapering & doses. This place just wants you to succeed! would recommend to anyone struggling with addiction!

I have been going to this clinic for a while and of course every clinic has things that drive me crazy. But I can honestly say my counselor Jamie Basara truly care about me wellbeing ,my Recovery. For once in my life, I don t feel as though I am putting in a category with everyone else. My counselor has individualized me and helped me with my problems. I couldn t ask for more and the nursing staff, Miss Hattie, and Miss Carrie are phenomenal. Miss Carrie takes it out of her day to make sure I m OK even if The medical reason has nothing to do with my medication. She s a loving and caring person that seems to always put a smile on my face on my days are rough. I can t forget about Mrs. Heather at the front desk she is a woman with a very large heart and cares about my recovery Here
