On a Sept flight layover, I ripped a large toenail off - it hung at just two spots. Three ER providers gave me three different treatment opinions. As I recall, I asked more than one provider about antibiotics .I believe an intern "treated" my injury. When I asked him to clean it, he swiped blood off the sides of my toe. After his wraps caused me pain, I finally asked if I could just wrap it myself. The second day back on the West Coast, I walked into a podiatrist's office. (Slept much of first day home after international travel.) A doctor saw my toe's photo and called me into her office immediately without an appointment.Sure enough, the loose toenail trapped dirt, and my toe looked bright and oozing."Didn't they even prescribe antibiotics?" she said before removing the nail and prescribing topical and oral antibiotics.I feel I wasted time and Uber fare. I am grateful to the pleasant security guard, the nurse who I asked for more bandage tape on the way out, and for the easy check-in.I would not return to this ER.

Accepted Insurance

AMITA Health Resurrection Medical Center Chicago works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
When participating in an inpatient rehab program, you'll reside at the treatment center for the duration of the program. Your housing and meals are provided, allowing you to focus on your recovery without outside triggers, stressors, and other distractions. You'll receive daily addiction counseling, drawing on various psychotherapeutic approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. Many inpatient drug rehabs also offer complementary holistic therapies, such as yoga, meditation, or animal therapy, and creative arts therapy.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) enable clients to receive high-level care while living at home. Clients may choose to enter IOP instead of enrolling in inpatient care post-detox or they may transition from an inpatient rehab into IOP. Intensive outpatient treatment involves multiple therapeutic sessions per week and includes a combination of psychotherapy and addiction and recovery education. Many programs also offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) and/or holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and massage.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs provide a full continuum of care for clients who are exiting inpatient treatment. Though outpatient care is often considered an element of drug rehab aftercare, services typically continue for the remainder of the clients' life and long after formal treatment is completed. Clients work with their case managers and care team to formulate a customized portfolio of medical, mental health, and social service resources designed to evolve as the client's needs change.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Took my 11 month old baby here today because she s been having a cold for over a week now.First thing , the front desk receptionist is rude as she ignored me when I told her I have to run back to the car and come back for my baby s things. The nurses seem to have no sympathy or patience for my sick baby. Rushed her vitals which is the first step they did. I asked if I could help take her temperature as she would let me do it more than them, they said yes but then snatched the thermometer from my hand. The first doctor said there was no need to prescribe any meds for my baby even though I asked for baby ibuprofen, and mind you, we were seen by a total of 3 different doctors all in this one visit , whom do not communicate with each other of what s going on at all.So the third doc asked me if I wanted baby ibuprofen or moltrin prescribed , I said yes.Now time to sign out, I don t get my baby s prescription.I asked front desk if she could see what happened because the doc asked me if I wanted and I said yes, waited another 20 minutes in the waiting room with my sick baby all for them to tell me they need to weigh her in order to prescribe anything. And I would have to wait as the doctor has other patients now. Shouldn t they have weighed her when they did her initial vitals and everything else, like they normally do at any other emergency room/clinic. And why would the doctor ask me if I wanted meds if she wasn t going to be able to prescribe them??Just a big waste of time, I even let the front desk know I m not in the best financial situation as I know these are simple over the counter meds but apparently this Christian clinic who tend to especially people of poverty , is a big fat lie. They don t care. At all in the visit did I feel anyone genuinely cared about my baby. Front desk, doctors and nurses wanted to give me the hardest time just for simple meds for my sick baby.Never again will I return to this sad place.Don t let me get started on how I overheard nurses talking to patients next door too.
