About AltaPointe Health Outpatient – Foley

AltaPointe Health has an outpatient clinic located in Foley, Alabama. This is a community medical care facility that provides a range of recovery services to adults and adolescents. You'll also find specialized care here if you're facing behavioral health struggles or substance use disorders. The care here is offered in an outpatient (OP) treatment setting.

They accept most policies from most major insurance providers including Medicaid. There are also sliding scale fee discounts. A number of other services are offered for free

There are specialized recovery programs offered through adult outpatient care. The supports include a jail diversion program, a rehabilitative day program, specialized homeless housing programs, and others. You’ll work with a case manager who will connect you to the right services that will address your recovery needs.

This location also provides treatments if you have a co occurring disorder. Through integrative care, you’ll work with both mental health professionals and addiction recovery specialists, including counselors and medical professionals. Support is offered in both individual and group counseling sessions. You’ll learn critical recovery skills and coping strategies to help you manage negative emotions and triggers.

There’s also medication assisted treatment (MAT). Prescribed meds can help you manage ongoing cravings. Through group sessions you’ll have a community of peers and mentors you can turn to during the difficult parts of recovery.

I appreciate that this facility also provides comprehensive recovery support to mothers and pregnant women. Pregnant women get priority access for their dual diagnosis.

Called to get my daughter established as a new patient and was told they only do walk-ins on Mondays and Wednesdays 8am-9am & 12:30pm-1:30pm. There was no guarantee that she would be seen and expect to wait 2-3 hours because they stay busy!! She's in first grade so I am expected to have her miss school for an entire day, 2 days a week to possibly not even be seen?! This is utterly ridiculous! I see someone at the Fairhope location and ALL of my appointments are scheduled! When you see a child, two people are being inconvenienced by this because a parent has to be present! No wonder people are so fed up with our mental health system. You have 3 (three) therapists in this building and you choose to not have appointment times. Do better!

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Programs

Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Read all the reviews - but please listen to mine I too was worried when I swapped my kids to altepointe in foley given the reviews BUT I can not speak enough good things they have done for my children - they have been kind, listened, and discussed options with me as the parent they have gone above and beyond to make all of us feel like individuals with individual needs. Haley hands down is the best . Our nurse and nurse prac Tera - amazing. She gets us.I could go one and on with good things - I have never had a bad experience.

The Children's Outpatient Department has been absolutely wonderful with our son! Scheduling was completely effortless and accommodating. The therapist's had no trouble at all helping him feel comfortable. Communications and assistance from the young lady at the department desk (Hailey I believe is her name) have been so pleasant and simply perfect! We love this treatment facility!

I absolutely abhor this place. I can't trust that I will get the help I need here. I saw a worker quit on my very first visit. As soon as I walk in Before He Cheats is playing on the radio. Not suitable for a mental health facility. This place is a huge joke.

Absolutely embarrassing as an establishment. We have attempted since January to have our children seen. Judy was suppose to be our contact. 3 weeks worth of calling everyday, we still haven't spoken to Judy. We were 1st told they needed a referral, found out later, they did not. It is March 21st. We were told even TODAY... TODAY when we called, that our children could been ween Monday, Tuesday, Thursday for new patient. We got to the facility early. We wanted to be first so we could get the kids back to school and us as parents back to work.Walk in and start to sign in. Only to be told They don't accept new patients on Tuesday. After we were told on the phone they did? Makes you realize, as usual, they aren't in it for the kids, they are in it for the bottom dollar, just like very other medical establishment

I have been going to Alta Pointe off and on since I was in about middle school because of my insurance . Now as an adult I had a therapist that seemed to actually care about me. She is leaving and they gave me no warning when I set up my most recent appointment which I'm assuming they knew at that time. I'm tired of this place failing me. So many scheduling issues. Rude staff. Medication issues. Etc. I did the right thing to do and told them I have been exposed to covid (my only ride has it and Im around them constantly)and they won't even let me have my very last session with my current therapist on the phone. They absolutely don't seem to understand how a connection with a therapist is extremely personal and being told they are leaving can do so much damage to someone's current state of mind. I highly recommend not seeing them unless you're stuck like me due to insurance. I feel like giving up, I'm so tired of not having the treatment I deserve from a place that is supposed to care about you.
