Bayview has cancelled THREE appointments. One of which they marked as a no show and charged $200. It took two weeks to get ahold of someone for a refund. Been trying to get into therapy for months. Disappointed.

Do not waste your time at this facility. This was the most unimpressive and pathetic psychiatry appointment I have ever endured. Dr. Conor Cronin didn t seem to listen to anything I had to say. I told him about my various experiences with medications that work and don t work, he proceeded to dismiss all of the history and prescribe a drug I have already tried. What makes it worse is that I came here with my prescription bottles in hand denoting medicine my GP had prescribed for the previous 6 months and explaining to him that this medicine was working wonderfully. He then condescendingly explained that a GP can t understand anxiety disorders because he is not a psychiatrist. Absolute waste of time and would not recommend. Go anywhere but here, this place is laughably unimpressive and it s disgusting that they charade as a mental health clinic. I would give Zero stars if I could.

Went from a five star to a one star review. Two canceled appointments done not by me, but by Bayview. Got no notice of them. I've showed up twice driving from Gulf Shores only to be turned away. My patient portal reflects these appointments that apparently do not exist. What gives?

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

You will be unable to manage your Rx.After starting a new medication, I was told to make a followup appointment in 2 weeks. The next available was 6 weeks. I received a call to accept an open Telehealth appointment 3 weeks later. After 30 minutes of waiting, I realized that my provider was not going to make our appointment.Later that day, I had to see urgent care d/t side effects that I needed to discuss with my provider. I might have otherwise avoided that outcome if my provider had come to our scheduled appointment.I am currently scrambling for an alternative to this behavioral health system, and I am concerned about refills.

My daughter s appointment had to be rescheduled. As a result she ran out of her medications before she could be seen again. I contacted Margaret, the office manager. She was able to navigate the bureaucracy and help us get to the right people to get a refill to last my daughter until we could be seen. Margaret is so very helpful and very much appreciated! Thank you!

I went to Bayview 2 weeks ago to see Dr Cronin. I m trying to get back on my adhd medication, instead he wanted to put me on anxiety medication. When I asked about the medication he was prescribing and the side effects he said that I may just be a little sleepy.I m apparently OCD as well??? When I got home and did my research on the medication the symptoms were absolutely disturbing. He failed to tell me about the 8 other symptoms the medication caused. I haven t taken the first one. The doctors at this practice are very stand offish. They do not want to listen to your actual symptoms, instead they make up their own prognosis and collect the check. I felt very rushed and unheard. I will never return!!!!

I am sorry to hear we did not meet your expectations, Jacob. Your feedback is valuable, and I appreciate your review despite your frustration. I have shared your experience with our team. Bayview is committed to improving communication and understanding between our doctors and patients. April
