Other Forms of Payment

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

This place needs to be shut down immediately. I ve never in my life been treated so terribly in a medical facility. If you re serious about your recovery journey, please please do NOT come here. You will almost certainly fail under their guidance. The staff and ridiculous strict policies are what make this place so terrible. They have no regard for their patients and absolutely zero empathy to patient s daily struggles. This place sets you up for failure from day 1, I promise you. Please believe me, you will not be given the tools for success here. You re just another check for them. They do not care about the patients, their recovery journey, their progress, their mental health, their daily life challenges, and offer no help other than the bare, bare minimum. The nurses are the worst, with the counselors trailing not far behind. I was assigned to the director, Kim briefly where we had multiple meetings. We talked about my job and family, and for a moment I thought she was one of the good ones. Not too long after being assigned to her, it was apparent that she knew nothing about me and probably never listened to anything that I ever said or expressed. When I needed to guest dose, she assumed I was on welfare, even though she knows that I had an excellent job, making probably more than her. They have no concern for your privacy. The drug test clearly label the drug you re being tested for in BRIGHT RED CAPITAL letters for the entire waiting area to see, where you re also being dosed so your private medical conversations you have with the nurses are far from private.I truly believe they feel as though patients are not entitled to basic human decency and privacy because we re addicts. You re given zero respect and dignity. Leave your pride at the door of you decide to get care here. Please know, They re not there to help you, they re there to collect a paycheck and belittle you. They have no concern for your personal life or your recovery and that s reflective in their strict policies and staff standards. The staff are not educated enough in my opinion and have no knowledge to resources available to patients. I feel as though anyone with a pulse and can pass a drug test can be employed there.I opened an Attorney General s complaint for discrimination and staff misconduct and their response was to blame me, the patient. They offered no corrective action and took no accountability for the behavior of the staff. Did not even offer the bare minimum of opening an investigation. It feels like a high school with the patients as the students getting picked on and belittled and the employees the bullies. It s absolutely pointless to file a grievance because they re all close friends and will always stand behind their staff. My next step is to keep filing complaints until they re properly investigated because they should not be getting away with the shady practices and incompetent staff. I ve never met the on-site physician because they re never there. If I could leave zero stars I would because this place isn t even worthy of a half star.

The security guard here treats people absolutely terrible !! The only people I respect here is my counselor, Dr., and nurses, everyone else makes you feel as if you are nothing but a junkie, especially security, and some other staff we are recovering we do not need extra inconveniences as we re trying to get clean! I also am not leaving this bad review because I have broken rules. I just feel very Disrespected, and that this place is unethical

This clinic is unethical, most of the staff are incompetent including the "program director" and especially the nurses. The nurses who give out methadone think they know everything. I've been there for over a year and only had a counselor for maybe 3 months because every counselor they hire leaves. This place is just overall messed up. Would not recommend.
