Awesome church! Visited recently. From start to finish, everything was done with excellence. I felt very welcomed. They do pre-service prayer which was very powerful. The worship was inviting and they let the Holy Spirit lead. The teaching lined up with the word of God. If you are in and around midland, I would highly recommend attending this church. I believe your life will be changed for the better!

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. Each week the participants of ACAC groups come together in an atmosphere of freedom, safety, love, hope, and honesty. The 12 steps of Alcoholics for Christ are applied as well as selected scriptures and the "problem list" (found in pamphlet) to help identify issues.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
During a medically supervised detox, addictive substances are removed from your body while under the 24/7 supervision of medical professionals in an inpatient environment. This is the safest way to wean your body off of addictive substances, since quitting alcohol or certain drugs (like opioids or benzodiazepines) can be dangerous if done on your own. The program typically lasts around 5-7 days, but is highly individualized depending on your needs.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Michigan provides personalized treatment to help individuals break this cycle and regain control of their lives. Treatment methods are used in various levels of care, including inpatient rehab, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and standard outpatient treatment.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

The Alcoholics for Christ Family Group is for family members or concerned persons of an alcoholic, substance abuser or persons from a dysfunctional Background. The A/C Family Group's purpose is to create an atmosphere in which people can share their experiences, strengths and hope with one another. It is their goal to direct those to a personal relationship with Christ so wholeness and healing are possible. This is a safe place, and each person is accepted right where they are, while ministering one to another. Regular attendance brings knowledge, comfort and encouragement whether your loved one is active in his/her addiction or not. At the meetings, they share and pray for each other, thereby strengthening the body of Christ.

Went there one time and the preacher talked about tithing 4 times in 30 minutes that told me enough. Never returned. Real Men of God in the Bible lived simple selfless lives. They did not enrich themselves and hammer the saints for offerings to give constantly. Any Church that asks for offerings and special gifts for the Pastor and his family I would run far away from as quick as possible.

Looking for a loving, dynamic, and mature Pastor and other Christians to do life with ? You will definitely find that at Living Word!! I recently moved from Florida to Michigan just to attend this church! I visited my entire life, and have traveled to many churches with missionaries, and I m incredibly grateful to be here now full time! Pastor Barclay flows in the spirit & allows Jesus to be the head of this church. Spirit-led-biblical worship, teaching, and ministry happens every service however the Holy Spirit leads. No matter who s ministering, it is ALWAYS dynamic and you KNOW you will get solid doctrine every time!! 1 of the countless testimonies to this church s love: no matter what difficulty my family has faced over the years, Pastor Barclay and the believers at Living Word Church will speak faith and genuinely pray for and with you. Recently, I had a family member not feeling well during a service, and when the ushers & security saw this, they instantly helped them to the bathroom. The symptoms were NOT fun, but the ushers stayed with them the entire time. They brought in a nurse, and one of the head Pastors came in to help. This family member had to go to the hospital, the ushers & security offered to drive me and my other family members wherever we needed to go. They were willing to give up their evening to help my family. Over the next couple of days, Pastors and other believers checked in with me and kept saying they were praying for healing! My family member recovered better than expected and was shown so much love when they returned. This church doesn t just talk about the love of Jesus, they genuinely SHOW IT!!! Maybe you ve been hurt by churches and people before - we all have! But seriously, come visit us with an open heart. You will be so glad you came! A church alive is worth the drive - or in my case, moving across the country for!!
