Camino Nuevo, has been my cornerstone for my continued and successful recovery. I did not believe I would have had such great results or have had met and worked with the professional staff and friendly and helpful resources, that have made available, for the clients. God Bless the services and outreach programs at Camino Nuevo. I highly recommend Camino Nuevo for I am very confident others will have similar success, just as long as one gives their trust and commitment, Camino will be sure to assist with all else that's required to continue their support and care in keeping one safe during the difficult times that possibly lie ahead and involve a strong team and staff to complete their goals in remaining clean and healthy. God Bless Camino Nuevo.

Worst place you could possibly go for addiction help. Not only is there constant drug dealers trying to sell you drugs when you immediately step out of the building, but also they lie to you about what the medicine can do for you. It does NOT help with chronic pain, despite me being lied to for 3 years told to just keep increasing my dose until they finally said I couldn't go any higher. Then they make every excuse both legal and illegal so you can't see a doctor to go back down on your dose. I've been at the top of list waiting 6 MONTHS to see a doctor and they still will not allow me to see them. If you make an appointment with medical, they don't honor it, they make you sit there for hours so that all the new people can get in ahead of the appointments. The only counselor that actually cares is Katie other than her the entire staff doesn't give two

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehabs provide a space for clients to focus exclusively on their recovery while receiving intensive supervision and support. Inpatient treatment centers provide housing and food and most offer round-the-clock clinical care. Their primary treatment modalities typically consist of addiction counseling using various psychotherapeutic methods, including CBT, DBT, RBT, and motivational interviewing. Many rehabs also provide specialized services for clients with co-occurring addiction and mental illness. Recovery-focused life skills training and holistic therapies are other common services.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients in rehab aftercare programs receive a customized portfolio of services designed to promote their sustained sobriety. These clients have completed high-level treatment, are typically exiting detox and/or intensive inpatient care and are reintegrating into their home, workplace, and community. Rehab aftercare services address addiction disease as a chronic condition requiring continuing care. Clients typically work with case managers and recovery teams to access necessary resources, such as peer coaching and 12 step program induction support.
12-step icon12-Step
Participants in 12 step programs maintain access to community-based peer support, which is the programs' primary treatment modality. 12 step recovery combines personal growth with paper coaching. Participants regularly attend group meetings, which are free, anonymous, open to the public, and available multiple times per day in most communities. They are also mentored by self-selected sponsors who guide them through the steps of recovery. Age and gender specific and other specialized formats are common.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
The ultimate goal of a sober living home in New York is to provide structure and support for those who want to maintain sobriety. Often, sober living homes are a transitional space for those moving from residential treatment to mainstream life. Residents typically stay at least 90 days, with most living in the halfway house for more than six months.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
For many different stages and therapies offered during addiction treatment, it's essential to offer 24-hour clinical care in New York. often involves medication treatment for drug or alcohol detox. The withdrawal symptoms experienced during detox can be dangerous, but having medical experts on-site around the clock means someone is always there to step in and provide emergency medical care when and if it is ever needed.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you choose drug rehab in New York, you'll participate in a variety of treatments that are designed to help you live a drug-free lifestyle. Common methods of treatment include group, individual, and family counseling, medication management, nutrition, exercise, and management of co-occurring mental health disorders.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in New York is a short term therapeutic method used to treat substance use and mental health disorders. CBT typically lasts from five to 20 sessions, based on the individual's needs.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

This place is a joke! I've been to other Promessa Clinicas in NYC that were a lot different. This location at 175 Central Ave in small any is like a homeless camp with a Methadone program behind it. The staff doesn't care or most likely are overwhelmed with patients and underpaid. Had a family emergency & couldn't get a staff member (not even ajanitor) on the phone! Use as last resort.

This facility is a very sad excuse for a treatment program I would never recommend or send my loved ones here. First off you can t get a hold of anyone so if you have legit concerns or questions good luck to you. It s almost like they hold you prisoner they do not want to allow their patients to grow and better their lives as they claim so if you need to work or require them to do anything extra for you it s not going to happen. The councilor that i had the pleasure of listening to spoke to my family member like they were garbage! It was a disgrace these people are in treatment they don t need to be spoken to like they are beneath the rest of society! They don t even do lab work on their patients when they arrive so god forbid you are sick it s a sad excuse for a treatment facility!

(Edit: This place has continued to be a blessing in my life. I am still clean, 5 years now, and am in the process of coming off the medication. I highly recommend this clinic and I want to say thank you to everyone who works there.)This place saved my life. I had been an addict for years, was in and out of detoxes and rehabs, but this place (and a whole lot of determination) finally got me free from the hell of addiction, and have now been clean for over 2 years. The staff is great, the groups and the counselors that run them have helped me out so much, and I have nothing but good things to say about this place.

Methadone maintenance is the gold standard for opiate addiction for a reason. This stuff works, in addition I ll add my counselor Katie is a straight up G. She truly cares about her clients. The rest of the admin staff is lovely as well. Our dosing nurses are fast and friendly. The only negative is the head nurse zaria or whatever, she leaves ALOT to be desired to say the least. How she is a medical professional at all is honestly a mystery.
