About AA – Alcoholics Anonymous
AA – Alcoholics Anonymous - Santa Rosa is a non-profit 12 Step program for youth and adults who need help recovering from drug and alcohol abuse. This program is community-based and dedicated to helping adolescents, seniors, military personnel, and veterans. Meetings are available for non-English speakers.
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) offers peer-directed and community-based services through a supportive group therapy environment that includes recovery education. Meetings are at no-cost and can occur in the morning, afternoon, and evening throughout the year, including holidays and weekends. One-to-one peer counseling is provided by a self-selected sponsor.
The 12 Step model takes a stage-of-change approach that emphasizes healing the whole person. During the 12 Step process, individuals are taught recovery-focused life skills that address topics such as relationships, forgiveness, self-compassion, spirituality, and relapse prevention.
AA – Alcoholics Anonymous is completely free to those who attend the program. However, peers may provide referrals to services that charge a free. These are often covered by major insurance providers like Bright Health, Wellmark, HCSC, and TRICARE. It is advised that you contact your insurance provider to discuss your out of network benefits and confirm what is covered.

Treatments
The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.
Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
