About 2nd Chance Recovery Center

The intensive outpatient program generally meets three times per week for three hours at a time. Treatment begins with an evaluation and assessment. This program provides group counseling, anger management classes, domestic violence therapy for those who would benefit, and an opportunity for individuals to participate in the deferred-prosecution program.

The outpatient program meets less frequently than the intensive outpatient program. Clients have an opportunity to participate in the deferred prosecution program and domestic violence therapy if this would benefit them. Anger management classes and group classes are also provided.

2nd Chance Recovery Center can be contacted to learn more about their programs, insurance options, and payment options. Coverage may be available through providers such as Aetna, Cigna, Wellmark, Beacon, and Humana. Individuals who want to use insurance are encouraged to contact their provider prior to starting treatment because out of network benefits may vary.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Medical detox is often the first step in addiction recovery and involves ridding the body of drugs and/or alcohol in a supervised inpatient setting. If you've become physically dependent on substances like alcohol, benzodiazepines (like Xanax), or opioids, quitting abruptly may cause uncomfortable or even dangerous side effects. In medically assisted detox, a team of medical professionals will help manage any potential withdrawal symptoms with the aim of keeping you as safe and comfortable as possible.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Effective drug rehab in Washington integrates care for the whole person, offering comprehensive solutions to addiction. Treatment methods address mental, physical, and relational aspects of substance abuse.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

I won't tell you it was a completely negative experience because that would be a lie but honestly they have so much to improve and if I were in need of receiving treatment again I would not come back here.

This place changed my life. Every step forward is met with unwavering support and genuine care. It s not just their expertise, but their passion for healing that shines through in every interaction. You re not just another paycheck here, you re a unique individual with a path that is respected and cared for. They are determined to help you thrive. With that said, it surprises me that there s negative reviews. These people leaving one stars, probably failed themselves and is taking it out on this establishment. The staff is top-notch, real people, who care deeply about everyone who walks through their doors.

PLEASE READ!! If I could give negative stars, I would. DO NOT attend this facility. If you have BCBS, they say they accept it, but they code incorrectly causing insurance to deny your claim and you will have to pay the entire treatment out of pocket. The owner is unprofessional, nor is he respectful with his patient's, court officials or lawyers. My e-mails exchanged with the owner were met with threats and unprofessionalism. When dealing with the court system, he still has no regard for authority and was blatantly disrespectful to the Judge on record. The Kent court House no longer accepts treatment from this establishment, so if your case is handled by MRJC, they will not take 2nd Chance Recovery as a valid source of treatment. You may also repeatedly get called into court due to legal documents/check ins being withheld from the court and probation officers. I will say, the counselor for the classes was kind and attentive, but save yourself the hassle!

Response from the owner8 months ago
I am truely sorry that you had this experience. Typically insurance companies dont pay for court ordered treatment as it is not deemed medically necessary, but we always try for our clients. Also all the court houses accept our evaluations, that is entirely untrue. We are a state certified treatment center and still a valid source of treatment.

This place is a gimmick. The owner of this place is unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable when discussing my struggles with drugs & alcohol. I had to have paperwork transferred over for legal purposes, and they refused to share any paperwork unless I payed $375 per treatment session with them. This place just wants your money and they don't care about anybody's recovery from addiction.

I'm writing this in hopes that who ever owns this place contacts me. I arrived for a 2pm appointment on Wednesday September 14. I was put in a situation that made me doubt the legality and professionalism of this establishment. I saw the great reviews and that's why I took a shot on this place. I'm hoping this is just a misunderstanding and not the way things are run in this place.

Response from the owner2 years ago
We have to ask every new client to provide us with thier idenitfication/license because we legally have to make a copy of it for your file. We then have the client sign an ROI that we send to their attonrey requesting thier police report, DCH, BAC/Blood Draw Results (if appropiate to thier case) as well as thier Driving Record if they are here because they were charged with a crime in the state of Washington. This is required by law when working with the court system, unless you are a self-referred client. All the documentation we request is part of the assessment process per WAC Rules. The owner who is also the SUDP that was trying to check you in and do your assessment was so confused about why you just walked out without any explaination. We hoped you had voiced your concern so we could inform you of this. We never want our clients to feel uncomfortable in anyway and apologize that you were not informed about this process of providing your personal information before your assessment. If you would like to re-schedule your assessment, gives us a call.
